I know personally just how much work and tenacity it took to accomplish your results. Great job! I've been on my own journey with a cottage I bought off Craigslist for 10k. It's been very dirty, gritty work, but so rewarding to get it done on my own. Traveling south for my winters, I now will find the same sort of deal and begin all over again. Wish I had done this, like you, when my kids were little. Great decision on your part! Enjoy it all in each moment. This is the show. Goes fast. When the lights fade and the curtain closes, that is it. Life is NOT a dress rehearsal! Have fun!!!

I have lived in a 1996 double wide for 25 years this August. I have had virtually no problems with it. I put a metal roof on it in 2014. I live in Florida. I have also updated the skirting to k-roc a few years ago. But I am well satisfied with it. If you take care of them they last. Just like anything, even well built homes, if you don’t take care of them, they don’t. I admire you for what you are doing. God bless you in your endeavor. Great job! Isn't it so satisfying to see what a little money and hard work can accomplish. A home and a house can be two separate things. I've seen huge expensive houses that were never homes. And small or inexpensive homes that were full of love and happiness. Although some think so it doesn't take a large expensive place to make most people happy.

So inspiring for those of us who are downsizing or buying land in an area that allows a mobile to be placed on it. That's the problem, most of the time... and, as you said, access to water, etc. Thanks for your honesty about costs, etc. Beautiful garden. Looks like you had to fight a lot of stone to till it. If I had the property, I think I'd like to try no till... but your place is beautiful.

I had the same problem when I moved into an old home...no storage ! My solution was to go to antique shops to buy armoires at a bargain. One was beautiful cedar with mirrors on the doors. Found this one in the “want ads”. Others I stripped and returned to their original wood. Also multi purpose furniture with storage space helps, like chest, ottomans, coffee tables that lift up...I like furniture that has multi uses. Best wishes 🏠🚪🛌🖼🛁🧹🙏🏼😁🥰😍

Your home is so well done! Your decor is very meaningful and simple. I love decor and old things I feel like I’m crowding our life with stuff... so you’ve inspired me to simplify. I love to see mobile homes given a new life, they’re such an affordable option. We renovated a double wide last year, and a still have many projects to do... we painted all our kitchen cabinets white and man, 6 months with 5 kids I have to clean them like crazy and have a few touch up spots already. So wise decision on your part, and the blue is fun! I don’t comment often but want to tell you thank you for sharing!

Really great job! I am probably your parents age and My husband and I bought our home in 1995. We are the original owners. Here is what we learned. 1) initial investment should be in structural upgrades like 2×6 exterior framing, more insulation. 2) we had a foundation wall built out of beautiful desert block and our ho.e is legally tie downed, which makes us taxed as real estate verses personal property, like a boat or camper. THAT is a huge financial difference. 3) everything anesthetic was done later. Except...we had the main are drywalled. I wish I had the entire house done ✔ I'm currently drywalling at 56 years old with my 77 yo Father. 4) the cor you paint your house meters. Front door pops of color really works wonders. P.s. 25 years later My father and I, his daughter, are repairing/replacing roofing, termite damaged window header, replaced a back door, replacing the rotted siding near the bottom of the house up 30" which gives us a decorative look to match the front of the hoyse, replacing interior doors, repairing or replaci g electrical outlets that won't stay IN the wall. We redid the kitchen. 12 years ago its still so gorgeous and our floor is recently done from damage caused by an ice maker.. I'm exhausted but live these memories with my dad and my husband who is working hard can work and not worry.
