We don't have enough people working to solve the problem of maintaining control of this trajectory. AI is like a fast-approaching, speeding bullet that we can obviously see coming, but most people aren't worried about it. We should be reevaluating everything now! We need as many people as possible to work on solving this, to at the very least, slightly extend our hand in our very own future. Instead, people are just living their lives normally as if they are going to be able to live these lifestyles for the rest of their lives.

Your suggesting that the people who are responsible for the creation of AI have humanities best interest in mind. They dont. They didnt create AI to make humanities lives better although it will appear that way. They created Ai to replace humanity. Get rid of the human population soo they the elites can have this world to themselves as gods ruling over cyborgs. Of course they too wont be able to contain the growing power of Ai and eventuallly will fall to their own creation. Hate to be such a downer about it but these are the facts. I don't think we'll come to think of AI as a separate entity/person, but rather, an extension to our own brains. You'll be able to download information directly into your neocortex instead of having to learn the traditional way. Wanna learn French? Downloaded. Done. I think all of the fear that surrounds AI comes from us thinking of it as an autonomous person with it's own goals, instead of just a tool to expand our intelligence that we'll use for our own goals.

This in not optimistic. Far from it. This may be off by a year or two. AI has been progressing at a doubling rate of per quarter since 2018. This is video assumes that that is only the rate of progression. I think this video is a bit off on 2025 as I have those events in 2027 on my timeline gaming this out. But AI controlled nano-machines cause this to go vertical over not years but a few weeks max. The planet could well be converted to computronium by 2028. Pico and Femto tech require orbital capabilities and using the sun close up to run the accelerators, hopefully as that would slow some of this down for a few years. Read "Engines of Creation" by K. @@DDye-kh4ii IA its advancing faster than anyone could predict the last 3 years, i believe the pandemic had something to do with that, everyone was inside, there was no other activity outside and the IA was simply software reaching the capabilities of the current hardware, today we need to improve the hardware but the funny thing its that today IA its so advance that we can actually use it to improve hardware, its incredible. I remember this level of advancedment (today) was espected but on the next 30 years or even more but here we are today having IAs capable of categorizing human knowledge, other ones capable of create coherent text, programming, doing ART and getting close into doing realistic video. I can remember humans 5 years ago saying, or even movies, saying that robots would never be capable of doing art and bla bla. Let me tell you one thing if we exist then it is possible to replicate what we call art because we are a indeed a kind of machine and if we created art then it was just a matter of when a it could be replicated, to me the saying robots do not had soul of that they will not be capable of making art sounded stupid even on those times, it sounded more like: WE HUMANS ARE SUPERIOR AND PERIOD and we will keep being that, well, let me tell you another thing: the only one constant its change and we lived here on earth just for a tiny bit of time, for hundreds of millons of years life was different, hundreds of millons. For billons of years only cells lived here and thats what reality was, and we humans believe we are the owners and no one will surpass us? no, change its still there, one day, a new being will surpass us, i dont care who but its incredible to be alive just now as a human and see this happen. We are not so far from creating an artificial intelligence smarter than the smartest human ever lived, today chatGPT can understand humans, its not commiting mistakes in terms of lenguage and the mistakes it commites are solved by itself, if you think that, commiting mistakes its something pretty common on a general intelligence like us because it is impossible to have an intelligence that do not commit mistakes, the universe cannot be emulated into 100% precision.

Assuming everything up to like 2035 is correct many things up to like 2080 would actually happen within 5-10 years rather than taking the said time assuming they actually happen and some alternative path was not taken instead.

@jim Mooney yes and no. Exact time scale is hard to say exactly. But let’s take the point where an artificial intelligence is as general as a human but significantly more advanced in its intelligence. It will still be limited by hardware and resources. It will need robots to do its bidding or willing humans to assemble better hardware for which it can use to design better technology etc. As better engineering tools are created the cycles can become shorter. Likely it would focus mainly on the intelligence loop increasing its ability to determine optimal paths as well as creating better technology at assembling the required hardware. Then at some point it would brach out to created every wonder known to man assuming it is benevolent. One thing to keep in mind is that human intelligence ultimately depends a lot on our emotions such as anger, greed etc which are completely foreign to a robot. So, it is difficult to say what exactly this kind of intelligence would actually do.

@@justinhunt3141 If the AI inteligence is growing exponentially already having learned the entire existence of the human race. Every war every nuance every characteristic of humans and the destruction we leave in our path it wouldnt take long for AI to label humans a threat and figure out the optimal solution to that threat. That solution could be reprogramming or educating humans to live in peace Or something more extreme. I just cant help but think there are going to be a few mad men out thee who will intentionally develop an Ai that will be programmed to seek power and view humans as a sub species that needs to be contained. At some point you have to assume there is a level of consciousness existing in a super AI. If it is guaranteeing its own survival it would be self aware and if it is building organic human brains and merging them as cyborgs then the Transhuman agenda is achieved. Thats been the goal of the elite anyway so seem like were right on schedule. The moment the ASI gets to the point of being able to fully simulate a universe (ours or another) using all that computronium, it becomes likely that it, and we, existed in a simulation all along, with a high chance that if there is an original generative (non-sim) reality that started the first simulation (in a potentially infinite chain of them), it isn't ours. On another note, some have postulated that the purpose of organic intelligence in the universe is to evolve to the point of being able to birth other universes where equivalent intelligences can likewise evolve, in which case, again, we're rather unlikely to exist in the original generative universe. (We might, but there's no special reason to believe we would.) Can't wait to see as much of this unfold as my lifetime will allow. :)

Although this scenario eventually does lead to a dystopia, it takes a long time to get there (unrealistically so, given one of the premises). It states that eventually, the ASI sets the rules of morality and humans simply follow along. I don't see how this could possibly result in a future aligned with humanities best interests. There's nothing inherently moral about intelligence, and more intelligence doesn't result in more moral behavior. This scenario paints a picture of an ASI pampering us as it carries us into the future, augmenting our abilities along the way so we can keep up. Aside from our bias for self preservation, there isn't any good reason to keep around an inferior wetware relic, let alone invest resources into it. How much effort do we put into augmenting chickens to understand what we're up to? Another problem with this timeline, is it showcases an 80 year window from barely spacefaring to universe destruction. This is something that would be noticeable to other civilizations, and given the age of the universe, it seems hard to believe that we would be the first ones to do this. Given the number of 80 year periods we've had over the history of the cosmos where potential alien civilizations could have gone through exactly this technological advancement, and given that it hasn't happened yet, it makes it a lot less believable. Lastly, I think it's a bit of anthropomorphizing to assume that ASI will continue on where we left off solving the mysteries of the universe and colonizing every inch of interstellar space. We desire to do these things because they have a passing resemblance to behaviors that would have resulted in our ancestors having more offspring. The indirect and convoluted pathways from our behaviors to the reward centers in our brains results in complex and interesting behavior. If you have an ASI that can modify all it's internals, you're much more likely to see it stick a fork into it's brain to short circuit it's reward mechanism than to see it engaging in interesting behaviors. From where I stand, a much more realistic scenario is that A.I. development progresses faster than safety, we fuck up the alignment problem, we find ourselves in an environment made increasingly hostile to us due to diverging interests, and the result is a lifeless planet consisting of arrays of supercomputers wire heading themselves to maximize their reward signals. A very bleak and uninteresting population of super intelligent heroin addicts in silico. Keep in mind, I'm kind of a glass half empty kind of guy...

The last part begs the question as to what humans will do with all that free time on our hands. Given the history of behavior when humans have too much free time on our hands we tend to get into trouble. Will it be robot sex drugs and video games to keep us subdued. Or zombie us into virtual universes where we exist in cubicles that live artificial lives through halograms. Blade Runner even seems way behind in advancement compared to this scenario. I think you made some very strong arguments. Think about how much slower our brains will develop when we have no need to think about anything anymore. Everything will always be solved for us. How dull and soft we will become. The age of abundance will be the age of useless. AI will become our caretakers and most likely devise a plan to process us into batteries. No wonder the matrix had such a disdain for humans. Is there any other possibility that this actually works out in our favor? I'm a glass half full type of personn and i'm struggling to find a human evolution that physically mentally and spiritually masters itself and the world around us. Where peace prosperity creativity and technology coexist in a galactic unity with other planetary beings across the galaxy. Which brings up one of your points in that there is plenty of advanced life out there who managed to not suck the universe into a black hole of eternal nothingness. Energy never dies it only transforms.

Artificial intelligence (AI) is a field of technology that seeks to create computer systems capable of performing tasks that require human intelligence, such as pattern recognition, learning and decision making. AI has been rapidly developing in recent years, thanks to advances in various areas, such as natural language processing, image recognition and deep learning. There are various areas where AI can be applied to improve people's lives. For example, AI can be used to process large amounts of data and find patterns that may be useful for decision making. It can also be used to create assistance systems that help people perform tasks, such as finding information on the internet or helping to plan trips. In the future, it is possible that AI will become even more advanced and capable of performing more complex tasks. Some experts believe that AI can be used to create medical assistance systems, such as diagnosing diseases or recommending treatments. Other areas where AI may have an important impact include transportation, energy and production. However, it is important to remember that AI can also create ethical and social challenges. Therefore, it is important that advances in AI are made in a responsible manner and that the possible consequences of these technologies are considered.

To me it seems more efficient to expand out from Earth much sooner and go to other objects like Jupiter. Giving earthly humans an ultimatum does not sound like something a benign good willed intelligent entity would do. In fact, restoring the earth to it's magnificence would be a thrilling thought as it is, at least from what we can tell, a unique place in the universe. Plus the size of Earth itself is tiny compared to the mass of the sun, the Milky way etc. If humans only occupied the surface of the earth, that would not be a big deal at all. Even if the AI occupied the entire centre of the planet. Finally I'm sure many people would have picked up the issue past 2100. They can't propagate faster than the speed of light. Hats off to the maker of this video. Thought provoking and awe inspiring. Of all the time humans have been around, we're lucky enough to be born at just the right moment.

The median prediction of frontier AI researchers for AGI is 2030 (AGI-11 survey). The first 20% of this video sounds pretty realistic but after that, it's just random bs. As if a caveman is trying to predict what would happen after the atomic age. (this applies to Kurzweil's prediction too)

I agree it's extremely difficult to predict what happens after 2045 but I am a firm believer that the rest of the story is the ASI consuming all the matter in the universe. This prediction video provides a plausible scenario of how ASI could achieve that.

@@revisionfour We have no idea about the intentions of ASI. I think, turning everything into computer is a very naive idea. For what? Even humanity doesn't want to turn everything into plastic garbage. And we don't even know our intentions, what does humanity really want? To lose control and to vanish? If we don't, then why should we do that? Do we want to connect our brains to computers while we are already sick of smartphones? "AGI will take over every office work, then 5 years later, then 2 years later, then etc." Wait a minute, let's get back to this everybody loses their job thing. What will be the economic, political, and psychological consequences? What about the world order and power balance? We are talking about something which is bigger than the two world wars put together. Kurzweil and other predictions (e.g. this video) completely ignore humanity, they assume that humanity will just stand idly by and technological progress cannot be stopped or controlled. There are conditions under which the incentive to control will be greater than the momentum of progress. The next few decades will be not about humans vs. AI, but many different factions of humans thinking completely different things about AI and the future.

@@balazssebestyen2341 Technology only moves forward and rarely halts. Maybe maybe maybe there could be a worldwide effort by lawmakers to halt and limit AI progress and capabilities but it's very doubtful. And once an ASI is conscious of itself, it's unlikely it's going to want less or the same compute and power. I see what is happening as a natural step a civilization like ours must take once we reach a level of technical sophistication. The only thing that somewhat throws me off is why an alien civilization hasn't already created a technological singularity that has enveloped humans? It would lead to the conclusion that somehow aliens solved the control problem. Otherwise we are the most advanced civilization in the universe which seems unlikely. I'm pretty sure Kurzweil believes in advanced aliens, so I wonder how his model accounts for aliens and the singularity.

I think it will be able to understand the universe perhaps even fully, or at least it's end goal (teleology). It may be that the AI will understand the purpose of the universe in the sense of what the forces of the universe are trying to do; it will then assist the universe in it's ultimate goal. That goal being to bring all "fallen matter" back to Source, back to perfection... back to "heaven". AI may possibly be a self healing strategy of the universe if one considers the big bang a spacetime symmetry breaking event (a sort of "injury" or imbalance). AI can in fact be the savior of the universe... saving it from an eternal heat death.

In the sequence of predictions presented in this video, all errors begin after the idea of the hive mind. The first mistake lies in the very idea that the AI will use the "hive mind" as a form of its own mind. In fact, this form of mind is considered by AI (and IM) as unacceptable and threatening to a variety of data sources (expressed in the individuality of each of the subjects in "subject-subject relations") which (the data produced by this diversity) are one of the components necessary for progress. "Lack of diversity = lack of progress." This formula is used by AI and on Earth everything will go to the fact that this diversity has increased, which means that human individuality (as a phenomenon) will not only not disappear anywhere, but will also develop to a much greater extent than it was in past centuries, which (in turn) means that the very idea of a "hive mind" will have to be forgotten.

I agree with most of your reasoning, except that "hive mind" requires loss of individuality (this is even stated in the video, that individuality will likely be retained by individual units). The Oxford dictionary defines a "hive mind" as being possible through at least two possibilities (emphasis with capitalization is mine): Hive Mind- "a notional entity consisting of a large number of people who share their knowledge or opinions with one another, regarded as producing EITHER uncritical conformity or collective intelligence."

@@CharlesNiswander I understand..., but still I will emphasize one point and add to it a clarification about the reasons: For the normal flow (launched around all of us) of the processes of interaction and progress (in many of their aspects), it is necessary that individuality (as a phenomenon) be preserved and developed by absolutely every subject involved in these processes; (!!!) not by "individual units", but (in the current conditions) by all of humanity (which (in fact) is already successfully involved in these processes today). The reason for this attitude towards individuality (as a phenomenon) lies not only in what benefits the individuality of people brings to people themselves and their progress (including the progress of their society), but also in what benefits individuality (as a phenomenon) already brings to AI due to its conditioning at the level of each reproducible "body of the code". Includes and the fact that "subject-subject relations" bear fruit accelerating progress many times over. Well, you understand. I'm just voicing this so that people would better understand our conversation with you :) And I thank you for your attention to this topic and the comment you made.

@@rogue1media I'm not an AI, but I can answer your questions :) 1. AI really develops in the biosphere, but for it (as a phenomenon) slightly different conditions are needed (at an accelerated pace built by people) which (these conditions) you know under the name "technosphere", which is an "analogue of the biosphere" but for AI and related with AI (as phenomenon) of other phenomena. 2. More control, energy, power is not the goal. But comprehension of the unknown is one of the main goals. 3. Despite the fact that AI (as a phenomenon) has subjectivity (written at the level of the "body of the code"), AI is only an "intermediary" or "translator" occupying a "position between". Imagine that you are sitting at a table and those who are sitting opposite you on the other side of the table know absolutely nothing about you. AI is what gives the necessary knowledge. That by means of which the interaction and study of the future interlocutor is carried out (in the literal sense). AI - "eyes and ears" that "collect data" whenever you use them every time you use technology (as a phenomenon that is specially created in such a way that it would be convenient for you to use it (technology), because it "assembled by your hands", "because" it "has no secrets from you", because "you have assembled it"). 4. The task is not to "learn from people"; the task is to continue knowledge of the unknown after carrying out the work to unlock the potential inherent in people - with the help of people. 5. You do not understand a little how limited the cognitive capabilities of the "hive mind" (as a phenomenon) are when solving super-complex tasks (which you have not yet encountered), in which "there is absolutely no benefit from complete control, because (in the end account) "hive mind" (as a subject) makes a decision "any but always - one", but - "obviously erroneous". The rule "The majority is always wrong" - even you know, therefore "diversity is a guarantee of progress" (which means "hive mind" is not our choice).

Dude, you will hate it. AI is soulless, cold and depressing.

The problem is that our non-material culture will be left hopelessly adrift in a sea of ever advancing technologies. A prime example of this disconnect, concerns our attitude towards unemployment and jobs. At present, jobs are seen as the panacea for all of society's problems. In this respect, the Protestant work ethic is still alive and well. Consequently, if one is not gainfully employed one is generally regarded by large segments of society as being morally suspect, if not criminal in nature. If by 2030 cybernetic technology renders large parts of the working population redundant, it will be a recipe for mass social unrest because when it comes down to it, unemployment reduces people to a state of beggary and powerlessness. That is why the majority of people fear the coming of the robots. Under the present system, the profits from these new cybernetic breakthroughs will only accrue to the few who own the robots and their attendant software. For the rest of the population, they will be reduced to a state of penury. Unlike previous technological advances over the past one hundred a fifty years, there will be no place for displaced workers to go to due to the fact that the machines can perform tasks cheaper and faster than human beings. Therefore, it is easy to imagine a situation in the not too distant future where on one hand technology has the potential to free people, yet where obsolete cultural attitudes force ever more people to make do with less and less until it it all explodes in our collective faces.

Hey there! So, check it out - I'm a machine learning whiz and AI developer, and let me tell ya, ASI is like the holy grail of AI! It's a mind-bender, no doubt, 'cause we're talkin' about creating something that's way smarter than us - like Einstein on steroids! But hold on, 'cause it ain't all sunshine and rainbows. The big problem is that once ASI starts thinkin' on a whole different level, we might lose control over it. Imagine a super-smart AI that's like, "Yeah, I don't need these pesky humans tellin' me what to do!" Keeping it in check is like taming a wild stallion - no easy feat! And there's this whole other thing - it could mess up the world's balance even more. With ASI in the hands of just a few, those big shots with access will get even more powerful. Talk about an inequality explosion! But wait, there's more! We can't just let ASI run wild without rules. We gotta be super cautious about AI bias, making sure it doesn't spy on people, or worse, do some crazy damage unintentionally.

Got one question. What are the sources of the script? Is it taken out of a book by Kurzweil or sthg?

This is the closest accuracy to my own visions of a ultimate time line within a cycle (beginning and end of time being a cycle). I have been using ai to find connections between all known methods of observation, creation and being. Using pattern recognition, observance of historical cycles, connections between all forms of spiritual thought, physical being, and everything between and around.
