Amazing! However, I don't think it's necessary an accurate prediction. Sure, there are many people who'd love it to lose themselves into gaming worlds, maybe the majority. However, people like me, who are interested in science and studying the real world, would use brain-machine interfaces to learn information in an accelerated way and have access to vast amounts of data, impossible for a regular human to read or watch. Also, the games and AI will always be dependent on some actual physical substrate in the real world and vulnerable to natural disasters. That's why if AI and humans want to survive, we need to forever keep improving our science and technology in the real world. Finally, we might transfer our minds into the digital worlds and not need our human bodies anymore. But even then, scientists will probably use quantum computers as our minds and keep learning more about the real universe and advancing science.

I think it's more feasible that characters won't be individual AI minds, rather there will be a director AI who simulates it all; playing actors for all of them. This is because you want the world to be able to change and adapt based on actions of the player. They all will need to "talk" to each other. A new character won't have a backstory until you ask it, or it has to be revealed. Just like the world generates in bits as you explore, so does characters stories and personalities. Things that the AI first generates for a character that hasn't yet been revealed to the player can also then be over written if it suits a change the player made or the world. For example, if the player is roleplaying and tells a character about how he fought in the war between humans and orcs a decade ago; the character can then reply about how he also fought in that war; him being over written as the world had no info of this war earlier, and so the AI director will construct this backstory into the world itself.

@@carloscalipsis If you're actually implying things will basically remain the same, except everyone being out of jobs because AI took them over... well... lol.. I suggest you go a little deeper into it. A universal basic income I imagine is inevitable. The reason it isn't really feasible right now is because of the same reason socialism/communism isn't feasible. If there is no reason to get a job and contribute to society, a lot of people won't get a job. If there is no reason to innovate, people won't innovate. If there is no reason to do better at your job, people will do the minimum, etc etc etc. That all changes with AI. It may lead to Terminators judgement day, or a bunch of useless fat fucks like in Wall-E, but at least we'll be alive longer... I've been scrolling for awhile and i haven't seen anyone mention the controversial topic of hyper-realistic horror games and its implications to the human mind. The video said underground horror games will become terrifying enough to induce trauma or even terror-induced hospitalizations. That's only if by the time we innovate virtual reality, we will be able to control our emotional outputs, such as the level of desensitization we will have towards fear. That can become a possible bridge towards exploring horror games as a whole. Also, i want to challenge another concept the video came up with. Like i mentioned before, if humans reach the innovation of Virtual Reality and perfect harmonious haptic technology, the concept of currency is going to change drastically. Nobody will have to pay for education anymore, seeing how VR can perfectly simulate educational environments, and once they reach a standard level of intelligence, they will have a choice to continue learning a sophisticated career field, to help become activists in innovating the future. But by that time, continuing your level of study is going to become purely a sport of passion and not for monetary gain, because basic digital income will be available for everybody, and there are going to be opportunities where you can make currency almost stress-free and conveniently, thanks to AGI robots carrying over the responsibility of labor and hard work. By then, humans will be able to make a stable income and would be content living their lives humbly in their preferred VR environments. So the concept of a simulated "Squid Game" scenario would be highly unlikely, because humans wouldn't risk losing their lives over being able to make more unnecessary currency. The risk would outweigh the reward almost indefinitely for any sane human that values their livelihood.

You can never be immortal because theres something called a soul inside every human being. When your soul is taken by the angel even if your body is repaired to a healthy body without any problem you wont still function. Its kinda proven. You cant defy God and your soul will be taken to be judged by God to go to heaven or hell

I'm not trolling, but am genuinely curious: why capitalize "simulation"? Is it like underlining a word for you, maybe? Did you not even think about it? Perhaps a kind of protest-intentional, or not-against sensical punctuation? Is it related to your not using a full stop as well?

This answers the Fermi paradox. The reason the universe is never colonized is because every species eventually retreats into a simulated existence. For all we know, we are living in a simulation now, and part of this simulation is the appearance of a massive universe filled with trillions of stars separated by vast distances. In fact, none of it is real. It's just a "carrot on a stick", giving us something that's basically impossible to strive towards... colonizing the stars.

Nope, you definitely not alone, everything after 2050 sounds closer to technocratic dystopia nightmare fuel followed by a shit load of disassociation disorders in humanity after reality and VR become indistinguishable.

I suspect this list is a little over-optimistic on developmental sophistication. It'll probably be close to 2030 before we have first attempts at chatbot integration into games with deepfake voice acting for loosely scripted AI managed characters with more depth than we've seen before. Games are, however stage sets designed to tell a story, so, there will be a generalized script appropriate for the game setting and characters. It'll be closer to 2035 before we see subtatial AI-managed game development. For now, we still have procedural generation for some things in games and even that's controversial and described as "an ocean a mile wide and an inch deep". There's technologies like chatbots, and deepfake that CAN be used to create realistic characters in games but, it's not really being done yet. With how long the development cycle is with games where the big splash games typically take about 5 years to make, I suspect we'll see a more conservative progression of developmental sophistication employed than what's illustrated above. We've had chatbots since the 90s and those can gotten progressively ever more sophisticated with AI development, but, as long as we've had that resource, it's yet to find any significant employment in games. Many other things illustrated here look like the jetpacks and flying cars predictions that have forever been trope of "what we'll have in the future", and while jetpacks and flying cars are indeed technically possible and a thing now days ... I don't have either, and I'd wager almost no one does other than those with significant enough bank accounts that can burn $ without blinking. Haptic suits for virtual worlds and other stuff is fun to think about, but, what would the price tag on those be? Motion Capture suits can cost tens of thousands of $, and those don't even have haptic feedback. As such, there's much described here that's interesting, but, overly optimistic for when we'll see any significant employment enough that we can milestone a date on when X happened. It'll likely be late 2040s before we start seeing labor costs start to drop and be impacted by automation technologies in sectors like game development. ... but, agree, disagree, whichever ... we'll see eventually. :)

Awesome video. I would like to have seen more about the expanse of Human's into space. I envision this as being something that could be a real experience for a long term ship leaving our solar system and going to another system where the trip might be hundreds of years or more. I think once AI has reached a certain point, it will be what helps humans to actually leave the Earth and begin populating the Galaxy. As such, I don't envision Earth being a healthy place to have it all evolve. I just feel there are too many factions (Religious for example) that would fight this no mind how bad the planet is or might be doing Ecologically. I do however envision it happening with humans that might be put into some soft of Suspended Animation for a crazy long journey to another world or Galaxy.

Funny how you people always think this is a good idea, it ain't gunna be like star wars or star trek, more like Starship Troopers, and we're gunna wish we never explored space in my honest opinion, now let's wish for more deep space exploring, let's finish figuring out our own planet first

The visuals and the script are great but the main narrator sucks. He sounds extremely robotic and boring (almost as if it was done on purpose). If I didn't know about your channel and clicked on the video I would've probably just left because of that voice. You don't need more than one or two voices so you should just stick with the other ones.
