A new lesson- yay! Many thanks as always, Karyn. I know someone who talks about how thinking of the tone/breath as an inhale can naturally set up the onset- as someone who's talked about 'inalare la voce' before, do you agree with this? It does seem to kinda facilitate that sweet attack organically, from what i can tell.

Hello! I have a singing question if that's all right. Whenever I sing I get this itchiness right at the top of my throat that sometimes continues after and turns into soreness. Do I need to be more hydrated or am I using too much air? Or am I just straining lol. It's only the top of my throat there's never any soreness anywhere else. Thank you! P.S. I really love your blog and your videos. You're my favorite online vocal coach by farrrr

Question, for someone who tends to crunch the onset, sound it help to interrupt inhalation with sound versus waiting for the inhale-pause-then sing? I’ve noticed when I interrupt inhalation with sounds, I trick myself without giving myself a change to “build up” a crunch/or hard attack. I don’t know if this is the proper way or if it’s more useful to be able to start the balanced attack both ways versus “tricking” myself into it.

It's a bit of a dry read but a super useful resource for vocalists that I often come back to when I'm working on something in particular or a student has a certain need.
