@@rockythebranDon 7000 years? Bro, Put a realistic number. Even Indus valley civilization started only in 3100 BCE (5100 years ago). It's the first civilization in South Asia. Only Mesopotamia and few other civilizations existed 7000 years ago (5000 BCE). Also a writing system didn't exist in that time. Oldest records of writing belong to around 3100 BCE (5100 years ago) from Mesopotamia, Egypt and Indus valley civilization. Indus script extincted in 1800 BCE within fall of Indus valley civilization. Oldest evidence about Brahmi script of South Asia are from 6th century BCE. No ethnicity in South Asia is older than Indus valley civilization. Also It's impossible to have a literature 7000 years ago during stone age since there was no writing system in that time. Sangam age is between 300 BCE and 300 CE. It's the only sangam. Tamils say it's 3rd Sangam and there were 2 sangams before it. But It's completely a myth. @@rockythebranDon Arahat Mihindu thero brought Buddhism to Sri Lanka in 3rd century BCE. Attakathas are commentaries to Buddhist Tripitaka. Sinhala Attakathas were written to explain Buddhism to common people in Sri Lanka. Sangam age was 3rd century BCE-3rd century CE. So, Sinhala attakathas are older than Sangam age. Tripitaka was written in books during 4th Theravada Buddhist council which was held was held in Sri Lanka in 1st century BCE. Tripitaka is written in Pali language since it's the sacred language of Theravada Buddhism. Pali attakathas were mostly written by Buddhaghosa thero in 5th century CE. Buddhaghosa was a Brahmin from Magadha (modern Bihar). He initially debated against Buddhism. He converted to the Buddhism after Buddhist monk called Revata defeated him in a debate. Buddhaghosa also ordained as a Buddhist monk. He later came to Sri Lanka. He inspired from Sinhala attakathas to write Pali attakathas. Sinhala Attakathas were destroyed during Kalinga Magha's invasion in 13th century CE. Even some Pali attakathas were destroyed. But most of Pali attakathas survived. Oldest found Tripitaka manuscripts from Sri Lanka belong to 13th century CE. Other Buddhist countries have Tripitaka manuscripts older than this. Oldest Tripitaka manuscripts from Myanmar are Pyu golden pali texts from 4th century CE. Despite being Muslim countries Afghanistan and Pakistan have Tripitaka manuscripts from 1st century BCE (Gandhara Buddhist texts). This explains how much destruction Kalinga Magha caused in Sri Lanka.
