Bloody awesome. McGeoch was a bloody genius level guitarist, tragedy he died so young. Glad you younger generation are still getting it

Siouxsie will always be the queen of the punk/goth scene,and this outstanding performance proves it. But Peter "Budgie" Clarke's wild manic drumming,driven along by Steve Severins looping bass,and John McGeoghs broken glass guitar lines just make this outstanding album track come alive.

First 2 albums they had a different drummer and guitarist. During the tour of album 2 they split, Budgie was brought in from the Slits on drums and Robert Smith played 2 sets a night on guitar as the Cure was the support act. Album 3 had guitars from Smith, John McGeoch (ex Magazine etc), and Steve Jones (ex Sex Pistols). By album 4 (JuJu) they had stabilised to Budgie and McGeoch as permanent members. IMHO this was peak Banshees.

Siouxie is one of the most influential artist for modern alternative rock. :) She's still touring at 64 and it's amazing how little she has changed since the 80's. :)

Siouxsie actually has been retired for a few years now. I wish she was touring.

@@musicaltproductions Ah that's sad to hear, i realize misread the tour info. Last live performance i saw was from two years ago but that's still something extrordinary. :)

She's wearing the Star of David shirt because the UK punk scene, as an act of anti-authority defiance (that was particularly aggressive in post-war Britain) used to wear a lot of leather and swastikas. So the band started to get a legit neo-Nazi following, which was not welcome. So Siouxsie started wearing those shirts to fuck with them.

Awesome to see a reaction video to this band, and especially to not so known songs from this epic album (my favorite of them) which contains a lot of gems, including for instance "Nightshift", "Arabian Nights", "Monitor" or "Voodoo Dolly" (also available live from the same concert on youtube, check it out). Thanks also for your good energy (cheers from France) !

One of the first club dates SATB had was with Sid Vicious (pre-Sex Pistols) on drums. Siouxsie and Budgie (the drummer) were married for about 15 years and formed a side band called The Creatures ("Godzilla", "Second Floor").

Siouxsie Sioux is an amazing singer, in term of attitude and cadence very similar to Jim Morrison from The Doors
@secallen2 жыл бұрын
Never mind the singer, John McGeoch was the real genius on that stage.

The Banshees had Robert Smith from the Cure as guitarist in early years. Brilliant band ground breaking. Listen to the Strands tune Happy. Aw best Mac
