Sjin, when you need a precious resource, don't mine it directly, mine around it first, make sure it's safe to mine it before your pick even touches the block. It's also a good idea to keep 2 chests on you at all times. If you're digging around lava, you can place all of your important things in the chests before isolating the ore. Only once you have the ore do you go back to the chest. Then, if you die, the most important thing you lose is your pick.

@Patrick Gilfillan It works, but it's more complicated. You have to macerate the rods, send it to an automatic crafting table with a minimum stone and it, and have a chest next to the auto-crafting table with another minimum stone in it.

you can use geo generator to make eu then use power converters to change it to mj then charge a redstone energy cell then put that right next to the quarry and bang super fast quarry a lot of work but worth it :)

You can get it in Canada, too, along with a few certain types of Imports (like Becks, a german beer). I tried Stella, it's not the greatest IMO. The aftertaste is dry and strong, not to my liking.

Sjin, Make some gold nuggets with the spare gold. Use a single gold nugget, a stick and any one shard to make an apprentice's wand, then get a bookshelf and right-click it with the wand to get you started on Thaumcraft. It's pretty cool and it tells you exactly what to do; no wiki needed! Like if you want magic dirt too!
