Of course I never knew Freddie Mercury aside from his music, but from what I have heard Elton John, the late George Michael and others say, Freddie Mercury was a beautiful man, a generous man whose gift of voice and music together with the rest of Queen crossed the boundaries of race, color, and origin. Just like Earth, Wind, and Fire, Queen's music appealed to almost every human being on the planet. As vibrant and as outgoing as Freddie Mercury was, his bandmates all say he was a quiet man, a shy man whose flamboyance belied his near- introverted nature. I believe that. Thank you, Freddie Mercury, for the music, thank you, Queen, for giving this 1970's-born kid the perfect rock music to sing and dance to. And for those who harp on him because of his sexuality I will say this: I am a Christian, and I don't care what his lifestyle was, that's not my business. He gave me an awesome childhood filled with beautiful music, and the more I learn about him the more I love his beautiful spirit and his wonderful soul. Miss you, Freddie. Cheers.

Elvis changed music forever, no doubt. But I don't think he had much talent. Great voice and a great interpreter of music. But that's it. The rest was pure charisma. He oozed it. The thing about Freddie was he had a great voice and charisma too. But what he had that elvis didn't which is a huge factor in music/show business was creativity. Freddie was an incredible songwriter and a damn fine musician

Elton John had a love, and respect for Freddie Mercury, they were good friends, and it must have been hard for him to open his Christmas present from Freddie Mercury, in 1991, as Freddie Mercury died a month previously, and also I wish they did a duet like Queen did with another friend, who is also not with us, David Bowie. RIP Freddie, Mr and Mrs Bulsara, Freddie's partner, Jim Hutton, and not forgetting David Bowie. 😥❤

I always say Freddie was selfless because of the dignity, no selfpity he conducted himself with all through his sickness. Hearing what Elton said about the gifts Freddie left him take my breath away, in his darkest days, through his agonizing pain he thought of others, he did for others, he lived for others. To us he left the last most touching songs and videos, to the 3 surviving members of Queen more songs to go on with, to Elton the paintings. God find you a man after his own heart Freddie.

Then I'd see my most "religious" friends doing just that. My happiest and saddest emotions came in one moment. I was sooo happy hearing my lifelong best friend, finally happy with himself, come out and be proud of being gay. Then hearing him tell me when he told our mutual friend, she slammed the phone down and never spoke to him again.

Freddy was the epiphany of the "ugly duckling" Certainly not much to look at, at first, but when he opened his heart and mouth is where he turned into the swan. I can think of no other man in history that had such a wide vocal range. His vocal range could only be matched by his heart and concern for others. That is what makes him a legend in my eyes. Fly on thunderbird. (For anyone wondering about what I am referring to, look up Thunderbird from Quiet Riot) It's a very fitting song for all the great talent we have lost along the way.

I'm a Christian, and Freddie Mercury is my favorite song writer/singer of all time... and Queen my favorite band... I have tons of rare Freddie Mercury recordings... to all the so called "Christians" on here using this as a forum to throw stones, why don't you read your bible where it says "Judge not, and you shall not be judged: condemn not, and you shall not be condemned: forgive, and you shall be forgiven..." I can’t tell you how meany people I correct about the verse in Leviticus. I always tell them, and you did here, you should never judge or discriminate somebody because they were born different. @@cjm-jr9xk Yes, there are so many different interpretations of Leviticus... I can't help, but feel sad for Sir Elton John, when he spoke about when Freddie Mercury bought him his last Christmas present. I think, in my humble opinion, Freddie knew he wasn't going to see the Christmas, of 1991, as he died, just a month before Christmas. What a thoughtful, great, generous, and kind man Freddie Mercury was. I love it, how all his circle of friends had ladies's name as nicknames, such as, Phoebe, (Peter Freestone, who was Freddie's agent).
