Freddie should have been around today, to see how our music has progressed and how many rock and metal bands see Queen as an influence these days. My favourite is Max and Igor Cavalera seeing Queen in 1981 and that planting the seeds in listening to music and forming a band like Sepultura.
@thulsa_doom10 ай бұрын
Er... are you really sure Queen was an influence to Sepultura? More like Black Sabbath...

Why not? Many metalmusicians started with Rock and Pop. I began to learn drums after Wembley 86 Concert on videotape..
@zerodefects2610 ай бұрын
@@thulsa_doom , Max Cavalera actually said in an interview that going to a Queen concert in the 80's was the reason that he and his brother started playing music.

@@neffetSnnamremmiZ really? Cool!
@BlindGordie10 ай бұрын
@@thulsa_doom true, but when the brothers saw Queen in concert it had planted the seed. I mean, Max has talked about it a couple times over the years and that he likes the fast version of We Will Rock You from Live Killers. Also, there is a bit of Queen in at least one Sepultura song, with some guitar harmonies in the track Who Must Die from Nation.

There's a kind of truthfulness and transparency that shines through in all his interviews in both what he's saying and about him. @FairyFellersMasterStroke10 ай бұрын
1. [Freddie Mercury] After first studying art at Isleworth Polytechnic in West London, Mercury studied graphic art and design at Ealing Art College, graduating with a diploma in 1969. 2. [Brian May] He studied mathematics and physics at Imperial College London, graduating with a BSc degree in physics in 1968 with honours. In 2007, May was awarded a PhD degree in astrophysics from Imperial College London for work started in 1971 and completed in 2007. 3. [Roger Taylor] In 1967, Taylor went to London to study dentistry at the London Hospital Medical College, but he became bored with it and changed to biology obtaining a BSc at East London Polytechnic. 4. [John Deacon] The band would go through many line-up and name changes, with Deacon eventually leaving the band altogether in 1969 to pursue studies in electronics at Chelsea College in London. So, at the end of the day, he WAS and they WERE EDUCATED. 🤣🤣🤣
@imweakfordeaky9 ай бұрын
@@FairyFellersMasterStroketo add clarity to the part of your comment about John Deacon, this passage was referring to his hometown band The Opposition ( name changes included The New Opposition and The Art). John obtained his First Class Honours BSc degree in Electronics from Chelsea College and then at least started his Master’s studies in Acoustics and Vibration Technology. I haven’t found consistent information on if John completed his Master’s or not… but obviously he is *very* intelligent to have pulled First Class Honours on his Bachelor’s degree.
