ill be honest i started playing bass in 1980 and we didnt have anything like what marcus has done back then i ordered the mahagony j bass its the cheapest one and i will say this to people looking for a solid bass for the money,the sound and playability you cannot beat these sire basses.i really love how well they are set up from factory to your front door and the preamp etc if your a beginner or someone looking for a back up bass or a main bass there is no shame playing a sire bass they play and sound great

@@sr80bassguy i agree i know alot of beginners dont stick with playing because they have a bad bass or they are not set up correctly so its discouraging for a beginner.not so with sire,i mean quality wood,the frets are done nicely and im going to be honest i have a fender ameriacan deluxe and the sire preamp blows my fenders away. you get more for your money with sire

It says on the Sire website the M2 can be used for all genres of music. You just have to know or figure out how to dial in the tone you want for whatever your playing. If your playing death metal you might want to go with a different bass even if only for looks, but other than that your good to go with the M2.

bro, i just got this in the 4 string, i got 2 questions. 1 - are the ends of your frets a bit sharp, im wondering if its just mine that has it? 2. when i turn the volume is the tone meant to turn simultaneously with it as well? mine does, not sure if that is how its supposed to work, cuz the mid knobs move individually without affecting another.
@sr80bassguy6 жыл бұрын
1) it could be. You would just have to grind them down a bit. 2) the rubber pots tend to stick. It’s best to change to chrome and you will eliminate the issue.

Just Jonzing had the same problem with my v7 that I got a couple weeks ago. Filed the ends of my frets a slight bit and the problem was gone. Really worth going for
@justjonzing89866 жыл бұрын
yeah, for the pots - i kinda pulled the top one a little and it solved the problem, i guess theyr a bit sticky cuz they are rubber.... i guess after a while the rubber will dry up a bit and lose the stickiness. Conor - as for the filing of the frets, ive never done them before, what kind of file/equipment did you use? ive got a another bass with sharp frets - i could practice on that :)

Ken Smith similar in sound? Weight around 8 - 9 lbs. ? Which Genre of music? Any loose defects or etc.?
@sr80bassguy4 жыл бұрын
This sire is the most similar to ken smith all around. Super light. Wouldn’t play rock on it but everything else is good. Only thing, is with design of the cutaway frets 22-24 aren’t as accessible but if you’re used to 20 it’s no problem. And how often do you need the 24th fret anyway?
