I have quite a bit of wobble on both of the models that I have. Which makes me think it is semi-common on this. Also, had other comments with similar. Granted that is a small sample size. With that said, I do think this is a defect, that even though I see it regularly it shouldn't be considered acceptable. I would try and RMA it. None of my other gaming mice have similar clicks.

I used to play quite a bit with the Corsair M65, their switches are a mixed bag and I have literally broken into to pieces three or four M65's. What I used to love was the left side design and the scroll wheel was second to none for my purposes for a long time.

I wish they would improve the QA on this mouse and make it Ultralight. As I truly believe this could be an S Tier mouse if they did that. I too really enjoy their scroll wheel. They nailed that aspect. But the weight and terrible primary clicks really hold it back.

@@ThomasMuehler .. Well they do have a wireless M65 but at a whopping weight of 110g and at a cost of $130 Best Buy ($110+ Corsair direct; $160+ Amazon) .. it's one that I can't even bring myself to purchase. However, If they ever made an ultralight M65 wireless version that was say 60g to maybe 70g at that price I'd buy it. Now that the latency is fixed in Wireless I basically refuse to buy any wired mouse .. that is long as I can easily purchase and solder new switches, encoder and replace the battery.
@ThomasMuehler
@ThomasMuehler 2 жыл бұрын
@@DJaquithFL Yeah that is the one I am reviewing in this video. Not worth it as too many QA issues. And the weight is way too high. Especially, since they advertise this as an FPS mouse. And I was having the same thought the other day when I was going through my mice (doing some cleaning). I was like I'm done buying wired mice. As at this point unless if they are at higher Hz (like the Razer Viper 8K) or something else unique it just isn't worth it as the performance is the same
@DJaquithFL

@@ThomasMuehler .. However, I haven't brought myself to use a wireless headset. Don't get me wrong, I've purchased plenty and with the exception of one (Astro A50) that I gave to my daughter I refuse to use them at this point because of the poor sound fidelity. Instead, I've been using only USB or USB DAC corded headsets. Currently the Sennheiser HD58X from Drop and EPOS | GSX 1000 DAC along with Windows Dolby Atmos driver that you have to purchase from Microsoft. I may do something more radical at some point but I really like the GSX 1000 so I'd have to have an add-on Amp. I originally purchased the Sennheiser HD 58X because of the BS that people said about the GSX 1000 limitations with higher impedance headphones. However, I'm running at level 34 and it's plenty loud. Turning up to level 100 and getting off the FPS curve will blow out your ears.
@ThomasMuehler
@ThomasMuehler 2 жыл бұрын
@@DJaquithFL I don't blame you on wireless headsets. As I've found similar results. I think they have made significant progress but we still aren't quite there yet. GSX 1000 DAC and HD58X are solid choices. I think audiophiles tend to over exaggerate how much impact high impedance headphones have and think you need some ridiculous AMP. I have several high impedance headphones and all of them can run off my iPhone just fine. Do they sound ever so slightly better with my dedicated AMP/DAC setup... undecided. I want to say by a smidge but that could definitely be placebo.

I’ve been using the Corsair Harpoon wireless for a couple of years. That’s 99 grams and I have no issue playing FPS. I have heard that Corsair had some issues with early units but after the first batch they sorted them out. Pretty keen on this mouse.
@ThomasMuehler
@ThomasMuehler Жыл бұрын
If you end up getting it I'd love to hear your thoughts and if the issues that I had and others were or weren't found on your unit. Weight definitely is subjective. It's not an end all be all thing. But I have found lighter makes things easier but doesn't necessarily improve performance by a lot and is highly dependent on what you're doing.

You balanced quick cuts and natural presentation very well, likely saving yourself and your viewers time in the grand scheme. The uncut shake weight take was very well done Sir. The M65 has always been one of the nicest looking mice but I continue to pass it by for other mice due to the weight and main button failure reviews. The build quality with sleek aluminum chassis seems very nice for the price of the wired version but comparable wireless mice, like the MM831, retail for $90 and are really only missing the adjustable weight feature and > 1000Hz polling rate. A peer reviewed study may be necessary to determine which offers greater benefits to the strength of one's wrist, a shake weight or constant use of a heavier mouse.
@ThomasMuehler

Appreciate the constructive criticism. Definitely think a peer reviewed study needs to be done. lol. And I totally agree. I swear if they fixed the primary clicks and made an "ultralight" version it would be a mainstream mouse. Haven't heard of the MM831. I'll check it out!

@ThomasMuehler
@ThomasMuehler 2 жыл бұрын
I think that it is a "feature". As both of mine had significant variance. I think my first one was actually defective. But still don't think my second one is even with the dramatic difference. And out of all the mice I've tried (which at this point is a lot) I've never seen anything that blatant. Which is why I think they do that on purpose as surely that would not make it through the QA process if it were unintentional. Especially, since the Corsair Sabre RGB Pro has the same tech but feels dramatically better. If you fix it, and/or if you come to your own conclusion I'd love to hear your thoughts.

i have the wired version of this mouse it has 2 flaws, well actually 4 flaws. 1. Middle Mouse click ghosts A LOT, so when i open links, i open two of them per click, lol... happens roughly 40% of the time, which is A LOT. 2. Sniper button is programmed very jankily, it feels like when you push the button, the whole mouse loads a new DPI and overwrites the default DPI, causing microstutter, in-game, whenever i click, or release the sniper button... This never happened with other mice i've used that had sniper buttons, who change between sniper button DPI and default DPI seamlessly. 3. The sniper button is not positioned correctly, AT ALL, it genuinely gets in the way of your mouse-grip, and the button is far too big, corsair should take notes from the razer basilisk ultimate on how to properly implement sniper buttons. 4. Last flaw is basically a software issue, iCUE, the software that lets you change the mouse's settings and parameters, doesn't seem to save settings properly, and/or seems glitchy... I've set my mouse to do a rainbow transition effect on the RGB lights, but the lights frequently cut out to a default white, just randomly. >_> (Bonus, minor gripe: 5.) I wish mouse gestures worked without having iCUE open. xD
@ThomasMuehler
@ThomasMuehler Жыл бұрын
Appreciate the rundown! It sounds like you've got a defective mouse. As the double click for middle mouse click shouldn't be happening. Micro studder is very odd. Could be argued to be some setting that isn't correct or another defect. RGB issues are also super odd and also seem like a defect. I'd either exchange it out if still in the return window, RMA it, or if you don't like it just return it.
@MyouKyuubi
@MyouKyuubi Жыл бұрын
@@ThomasMuehler "Micro studder is very odd. Could be argued to be some setting that isn't correct or another defect." I realized after i wrote this, that the reason the microstutter happens, is because iCUE was running in the background... So apparently iCUE interferes with the sniper button somehow, that's another glitch to note... if you want to use mouse-gestures, you're gonna have to give up the sniper button, AND normal RBG functionality, lmao. xD Middle Mouse button click is definitely defective though, no other way to explain it... Same shit happens with or without iCUE running in the background. So seems to me like the software is in dire need of a fix, at the very least.
@ThomasMuehler

@@MyouKyuubi ICUE shouldn't be causing micro stutters or effect RGB negatively. So, either the download of ICUE is partially corrupted or more likely your mouse is defective. Seeing as you have multiple things that aren't going right with it. As I don't have any of those problems with mine.

I'm looking for a silent wireless mouse with rgb...does it exist?
@ThomasMuehler
@ThomasMuehler Жыл бұрын
I’m not aware of any click that is actually silent. Quiet, I can only think of a few. Tend to not be Gaming Mice or have RGB. Such as the Logitech MX Master 3x (whatever the newest version is) has the quietest (nearly silent) clicks that I’ve ever tried. But I think the sensor in it is dog trash. And no RGB. Razer Deathadder V2 Pro (Not the V3 as that has some of the loudest clicks I’ve ever tried) has pretty quiet clicks. To the point I feel okay using it at work. Probably one of the quietest clicks that I’ve tried. Also, has RGB. Depending on sale you can get it for quite cheap ($80ish over $130). Logitech G Pro Wireless also has quiet clicks along with RGB. But again, not silent. I don’t remember where I put it so I can’t test. But I thought the Corsair Sabre RGB Pro may also have quieter clicks with RGB. Xtrfy MZ1 had pretty quiet clicks with RGB. I haven’t tried the wireless version though. And that is all I can think of that I’ve tried. Again, nothing that has “silent” clicks. All of those are on the quieter side. With the Deathadder V2 Pro and G Pro Wireless probably having the quietest. The only mouse that I would say have silent clicks truly is the Logitech MX Master 3x (I think that is the name but whatever the latest version is. It will also be listed under the marketing material. The clicks really are something else as they feel great but are so so quiet. Shape is good. Personally, I hate the weight as it is too heavy and not well balanced and the sensor is god awful. Feels terrible to use). So all that to say I’m not aware of the combination of silent click and RGB. But it could be out there.

@ThomasMuehler
@ThomasMuehler 9 ай бұрын
@@__LC__ That is up to you. My issue is the weight is so high that you may not notice 8000 Hz. As you want to be able to manipulate the mouse, easily and very fine movements are incredibly important at that polling rate. It is difficult to do this with heavy mice, which is why mice that have higher pulling rates tend to be lighter. Additionally, the clicks seem to be very hit or miss, which doesn’t make the mouse all that enjoyable. I think the build quality from a shell perspective is good/great. I think the scroll wheel is fine. And I think it has a fine shape. I’m also not convinced that corsair has good firmware to lower latency. As I tend to not be on any of the charts, and I’ve never felt them to be very good in comparison to what I would classify as a good gaming mouse. For 8000 Hz to be noticeable, you tend to need to have a high tier set up with high tier aim in a mouse that is sensitive enough sensor with low weight with low enough latency to fully utilize the technology. I’m not convinced the corsair has that. I’m not necessarily saying they don’t have that either as I don’t have any real evidence outside of my subjective opinion. And the fact that I never hear anybody talking about corsair in the mice community or on charts. Plus for the price. I also wonder about the performance at that level as mice that are three times as expensive have difficulty doing that well I have a hard time thinking that something that is a lot less expensive is going to do it well. With all that said, I’m also a firm believer with going with what you think is best and trying it out for yourself to see if it performs to the level that you find to be adequate. Personally, I would not pay that money for this product. As in 2023 there are a lot of better choices. That may not have 8000 Hz but will perform better in multiple different categories that will give me better performance and game. 8000 Hz is not completely changing by itself. For example, if I have a Ferrari engine and a piece of crap car, I can tell people that I have a Ferrari engine, but I won’t be able to use it to its full extent because the aerodynamics of the body of the car, the wheels, transmission, suspension, and other aspects of the car won’t be able to handle that well which makes it kind of useless. I would look into the razor viper, 8K wired gaming mouse. You should be able to find it for around the same price. And it’s going to be significantly better in every category. Except for maybe shape which is personal preference. You can also look into the deathadder V3 wired also comes with 8K and is even better than the viper due to internals. And is going to be larger but more of a similar shape to this for palm grip.

@@ThomasMuehler Ok, thank you for your advice! I'll try the mouse out if I don't like it I'll just return it and buy a better one maybe the DeathAdder V3.

You can't just yell with frustration that it weighs 128 g when you can easily remove some of them so it's 110. Dramatic child

@ThomasMuehler 7 ай бұрын
Oh, but I can, and I will. lol. Especially, now when most FPS mice are 40 - 60 grams. Right now one of them is 38 grams, has dramatically better specs, and is larger (Finalmosue Ultralight X). This is nearly 100 grams heavier. That's insane. But with that said, some people like heavier mice and this guy can take care of that demographic.

Serious question... is that because they've never tried a quality light mouse? Also, what makes you prefer a heavy mouse over a lightweight one? What benefits do you gain?

@@rarityd Gotcha, that makes sense. I don't mind heavy mice. But think lighter mice are easier to perform better with more consistently (not that you can't with a heavier mouse).

JEEZ, do you have Popeye Forearms?! lol Color me impressed. If you got a hold of the new Razer Deathadder V3 Pro, Razer Viper V2 Pro, Logitech G Pro X Superlight, or especially the Starlight-12 you'd probably accidently throw them across the room. Granted, the Starlight-12 with its magnesium alloy would probably survive. lol. It would be fascinating to catch your reaction when first testing out those "superlight mice" that are at most 60 grams with the Starlight 12 being around 43 - 45 grams.

You can't always take the weights out. Also, not everybody wants to open up their mouse to do so. I can see where you're coming from with a heavier mouse can provide better feedback. But I think the opposite could be said as well. Acclimating is always a solid option as well. But just interesting to see an FPS mouse that is heavy in 2022. As that is not the norm.

@@ThomasMuehler oh didnt know there was weights you couldnt take out. Just ordered this mouse, transfering from the night sword which has some weight. Didnt even put all the weights in either. Thanks for the review!
@ThomasMuehler
@ThomasMuehler Жыл бұрын
@@MrPandemicalert Well... yes and no. Like it comes with weights you can add or remove. But then they still add some others to make it what it is. Along with just general structure. I was more relating to lightweight mice (which are engineered to be lightweight) where this one is more engineered to be heavy (and therefore structurally has areas that aren't made to be lightweight). But I would love to hear your opinion of it once you get it in and try it out.
