Fun fact, its actually cut in the anime, but Subaru actually did get into a fight with Sirius in the loop he was hanged, and he managed to throw her off the tower, and since Sirius's ability was seemingly mind control, he had good reason to think she was dead, hence why he had his guard down when getting Lusbal. Another thing to keep in mind is that he only has 15 minutes to come up with a solution, if he had time, he might plan things out better, but their is a very immediate threat, with a very dangerous ability. Not to mention he as to experience RBD again for the first time in a year, so his mind is in a frenzy. Subaru can be pretty clever, but he can't come up with a solution at the drop of a hat.

Subaru simply wanted to take a more stealthy approach and save Lusbel before Sirius's speech avoiding any fight and leaving Emilia with no one who can protect her, you make a smart face and think that normal people in Subarus shoes can think straight after experiencing a MINDBLOWING death caused by MIND CONTROL after a whole damn year without incidents, it's not about him not valuing his life

@@NinjaKumaReacts yep the devil is in the details, especially with this series other misconceptions: 1. her control isn't an ON/OFF thing, you are gradually pulled in more and more(the first loop showed that best) 2. the red eyes are just a visualisation of her power for the anime, when Emilia said "their eyes aren't normal" she meant that everyone looked hella pissed

Regarding the melee weapon thing the webnovel explains before they even head to the city, that Emilia made ice brand arts based on swords and weapons Subaru remembered from like folklore back on earth if I recall. They also explain the beako jet pack thing lol idk why the anime cut those parts out as it makes it seem very out of nowhere and given episode 1 was like movie length and had a bit of filler they could’ve easily covered it even just by shortening the obstacle scene at the start and maybe the cooking scene stuff, OR EVEN BETTER They could’ve just combined Emilia and the Beako stuff with the training montage at the start lol.

Iirc subaru received a whiplash of trauma at realizing it was an archbishop of the cult, so he had Beatrice stay to protect Emilia instead of him, afraid something might happen to her like with Rem while he was away. The fact Betelgeuse seemed to be after Emilia convinced him she had to be protected more than him. He wasnt exactly sure how he died either, just that one moment he was mind controlled and watched a kid get killed before he died. Plus, he was scared his checkpoint was so soon, at 15 miniutes it was a tiny fraction of his usual hours to days he gets to make plans. So he wasnt sure how much he could do with so little prep time and needed more info. Also he didnt just charge at Sirius, he was trying to get some info about her first, snuck into the place quietly (he received training on sneaking), almost landed a sneak attack but at the end managed to ram Wrath over the rails of top of the tower. He then planned to get the kid out and possibly aleet people later, the reason he didnt get help before was that he was too far from the inn, the closest place he knew potential allies could be at. So in his mind if he could save the child, he would be buying time to enlist help later. However, Sirius power literally froze him because the kid was scared stiff and the power could work without hearing or seeing her, just being near her was enough, again making him appear even more cowardly when in reality he thought she fell to her death. So the anime does make him out to be dumber, and skips over interesting stuff like him being trained with a whip by clind and developing tactics with beatrice or helping emilia develop i e weapons. Although, I might be remembering stuff from the WN too so idk if its all entirely accurate.

If your goal was info gathering and dying is an acceptable outcome to gather more info - then he succeeded - however, if your goal was to possibly NOT die, leaving Beatrice, Emilia out of the loop was a bad idea, not even attempting to ask for help, or call someone for help and going in alone is what I am criticism, not *how* he acted when he was already in the tower with Sirius

@@NinjaKumaReacts his problem was that he didnt have any free time to calmly think pretty much only calm thinking he had happened when he started talking to beatrice becouse literally anime shows us only parts where subaru copes with the deaths and pain he felt just seconds before if you want to understant authority of sirius she literally tells you most of it in second loop but subaru and lusbel were connected by that time and both were stressed from lusbel and hanging becouse of subaru so memories werent able to stick with subaru becouse he was puking bleeding out and stress and low oxygen meant that he wosnt sure if he died of cardiac arrest or hanging and whotewer happen to him happened to lusbel and after them tina died like lusbel in first loop

Well, the thing is that Subaru lacked too much time, and remember that he tries not to depend of the return by the on the promise he made to Satella to love himself more, but he is in the process, when he returned he only had vague information and had little time to think coldly, Subaru is a good strategist and what always screws him up is the lack of information and most importantly, time. So unconsciously he uses himself as bait to get information and he thought that if he could solve things alone it would be the best option, to take advantage if the opportunity arises and in itself in the anime the mini fight between Subaru and Sirius was not adapted, he managed to throw her off the tower but of course, he did not know the fundamental bases of how authority works. Subaru is too altruistic at this point, the lack of information and all that, why he didn't also turn to Emilia is quite clear, but another thing that they didn't adapt was another separate reason, and that's what happened to Rem, the fear of losing someone else who was precious to him, and not being able to do anything to save them scared him tremendously, the loss of Rem marked him quite a bit.

It's like if someone insulted someone you care about and are protective of, your first instinct is to defend them, because you care. Hell, I defend Subaru a lot, but I'm calm about it, and try to explain my points, because I don't want to just lash out, I really want others to understand Subaru, and why I love him as a character

Subaru has NOT been training on that for 52 weeks straight... He had to build that by hand first.. He had to cut and carry and raise all the logs. He had to dig the pits for the posts... Who else could he ask? Garf is Busy protecting the sanctuary.. Ram Could not build it correctly, Petra's too weak. Rozwaal wouldn't and Frederica is busy with the manor. Otto at most would let him Use his wagon for deliveries...

the solo charging into the tower was so dumb. I get that he wanted to save the kid insteading of soloing wrath, but still, not even bringing one more person with you to at least watch your back? You literally respawn right next to 4 people. Giving Subaru some credit, I think he is recovering from the shock of death and start strategizing relatively quickly compared to past seasons, so I guess there is some overall improvement. BTW, I was a bit disappointed that you did not get that he was more shaken by the sadism than the first Season 3 death itself, but I expected the possibility given that you are the oftenly cold calculating bastard I subscribed to.😂
