My guess behind why Arlo rates B Rank as an average score for 8DX tracks is because the typical quality of the base game’s tracks are pretty good.

Arlo's Wave 5 review is probably one of the best videos on his channel. Imagine receiving the funny juice from your doctor, and your first thought after the appointment is, "I should make a video." That is literally what he did.

5:30 - 5:42 You know the funny thing is that in Dutch, this course IS called "Electrodome" without the second R. I'm 90% certain they just misread the English title though. It'd be even better if it were called "Electrodroom" in Dutch though, as it would not only be a translation of the English name (-droom as a suffix translates to -drome), but ALSO the Japanese name of "Electric Dream" (droom in general = dream).

Arlo’s audience tends to be super laid back, and I don’t think Arlo is taking his rankings super serious. He’s mostly going off of the way the tracks feel to him, and not their layout typically. I don’t feel like his takes are too wild either, I just think he’s not being hyper analytical about it

I don’t think he is taking it super seriously, he just wants to talk about the tracks he likes I think. I don’t necessarily agree with the rankings some of the time, but they’re all around solid takes. Poor Arlo man 😢

Arlo’s tier list was a true rollercoaster; I’ve never been so happy with some of the placements and so annoyed in the same video, it was quite a feat. The last video to have me that emotionally invested was his Sonic movie 2 review video ironically

Poor blue monster just likes the tracks he thinks are pretty. I don’t blame him. Grumble Volcano is purely aesthetically pretty cool, not a very fun track to race on. S Tier though, did he do S Tier? If everybody’s rankings were the same it wouldn’t be very fun but I’m NEVER excited to race on Grumble Volcano 😂 fantastic video your reactions got me laughing

Meanwhile I vote for it every time I see it online 😏 sometimes I’m the only one and it’s even better when it still picks me. But then again aesthetics rank pretty high for me whereas gameplay ranks lower and music is almost non existent factor. I even like it more than Mount Wario lol (which is only B at best for me)

I think "B as average" comes from American education's letter grades and the culture surrounding them, it's considered disappointing or even bad to get C or below. Maybe where you live, getting a C isn't considered terribly bad?
