@@Sir_MustyI like to give my take on Toad's Turnpike. I disagree with the Toad's Turnpike take you have. It is overhated, but I don't think it is good, it is kinda decent to meh. A part of why the course was over-punishing in N64 is due to the harsh controls (not to mention the terrible controller it has). MK8 has the smoothest driving in Mario Kart, so some of the difficulty will be removed in translation. The last thing you want to do is to make the course wider to make it even easier, losing the appeal of the course, which is the difficulty. That is what happened to Toad's Turnpike, it becomes a C+ tier track. What a shame, I wish I could experience the original Toad's Turnpike. Toad fans and I are dying here with this selection (Toad's Harbor is the only good Toad course in this game, sadly).

I’m proud to say that I’ve significantly warmed up to the remake of N64 Toad’s Turnpike in recent times. I don’t think it’s a great course, but it’s way *way* better than 99% of players give it, and I still think the original N64 version has a leg up over the remake because of its unique skybox, but I’d put it in B-.

I can usually find a rhythm but there can be those few that blindside you, especially around that dreaded blind right hand turn when you transition from the winding roads to the city part. I guess I’m just a sucker for punishment haha

I disagree on the presentation take! The RMX tracks all lack a substantial effort that doesn’t really warrant preserving them. As for the characters and pipeline, I think those are indisputably gonna be saved for the next game. Nintendo probably has a plan for MKX that they didn’t want bogged down by the cities, hence why they threw them into 8

I personally think Scott told Schaffrillas. That Chesse Land is a Desert Track. Before or After they do Streaming Service Tier List. Also I still stand on the take about DK Jungle but now I have play DK Country Return. It made not like DK Jungle More it now my least Favorite Track in 7 and my least retro track out of the Original 16 in 8 since they could've use any other theme to Promote The Donkey Kong's Game but they use a theme that was Historically boring theme to me in all of Mario Kart With the exception of Dino Dino Jungle and DK Mountain.

I couldn't rank them all, but I could do a top 5 1. Twisted Mansion - I love spooky levels, and this track is really pretty. Also the song is a great tune for the Spooky Month 2. Yoshi's Island - beautiful track with a beautiful song. Also it's surprising that it took this long for Yoshi to get a track based on his own gane 3. Waluigi Pinball - what can I say about Waluigi Pinball that hasn't been said already 4. Merry Mountain - I know it's basic, but I still love this track. It's just a fun Christmas track 5. Shy Guy Falls - I like the track a lot. Running up and down waterfalls and the shy guys singing along when you're near them is cool

I'm surprised the Ice Ice Outpost part didn't make it in because I found it very surprising how much Schaff loved that course's music. Like don't get me wrong, it's good I like it but not so much so that it's the one of the only tracks I talk about music wise in a 96 course ranking. I guess it just comes down to music being way more subjective than the race tracks are.

This isn't really related, but I'm sad to admit that you're kinda right about DK Mountain, it feels pretty flat now, though I still stand by my opinion that those wooden ramps ruined the track more than being flat does. At least now you're actually on the mountain instead of being high in the air for most of it. 8DX DKM > Wii DKM

I’m gonna be honest and give the controversial take- I like Sunset Wilds. Like, if the skybox can’t change in 8 Deluxe, it can’t, that’s just facts. But I can agree if they couldn’t change the lighting, they shouldn’t include it. But like, I dunno, man, it’s just a meh track here with a great song (and I personally think they sunset it has is pretty). I’d still say it deserves to be lowest ranked or consistent low tier, but it’s just not worth that level of anger.
