Do some searching for "rubber band method" or "rubberband crochet" I loveee this method ,if done right there's like no tension on your hair and works just as well as braids. I also recommend using a netted cap if you have thin hair though

You have to use the crochet needle to pull them through, that way you want have to open them. I use to do then like that until I learned how to fully use the needle. It's so much easier!

If you turn the twist counter clockwise it opens super easily. I did my twin sisters and it was a breeze. Hope this helps
