HOW TO MAKE PAP WITHOUT LUMPS

It use to be difficult until i learnt the technique. First always make sure when melting ur fresh pap it is not too runny and no lumps. Once ur water boil off the heat and gently pick the kettle up dont be in a hurry, pour in the water with one hand and use the other hand to stir while u add ur hot water and when its thick u stop. Sometimes i stop stirring half way and just add water until its thick. To learn how to make pap u have to stand with someone that knows how to mqke it well it will be easier to understand and see other techniques . Thanks yemi

If it’s too runny I usually put it on the fire and keep stirring but I like pap to be thick. Great video

Pap is such a risk abeg. It can come out well in one day and then decide to 'show' you the next day. I've concluded that a well made pap depends on the mood of the pap. It's beyond our control, guys

Also if your boiling water has been boiling for a while and you pour the hot water on the pap without opening the kettle to let out the vapour or steam out for some seconds, definitely you'll have a lumpy pap

I use warm water to dissolve the paste and keep mixing it so that it doesn't separate or settle at the bottom of the pot before I add the boiling water. I like it a bit thin when it's for hot pap and thick when it's for solid eko.

Wow! As a Cameroonian i do the mixture while my boiling is in a pot and while still on fire i add the mixture while stirring for some minutes and that never goes wrong.

Yes you can eat it with soup, the particular form or even the hard form known as Eko. Pap is made of grains… White pap made of white corn Yellow one as this made from Yellow corn. The brown one made from Guinea corn. The ashy one made from millet. That’s it… Most homes in Nigeria take pap on Saturday mornings with Akara (Bean cake).
