Nah! Cait is just the best. I think people can’t deal with her having a whole story background and not only being “the girlfriend” who has to be emotionally available to Vi all the time. Also, Jinx, Viktor and Jayce also did questionable things but of course people have to play the judge when it comes to Cait

Even in season 1, they disliked Caitlyn simply because they sided with Jinx, despite Caitlyn's primary motivation being her genuine desire to help others. Now, the criticism has shifted to her seeking revenge for her mother’s death. While I don’t fully agree with Caitlyn’s methods either, it’s important to acknowledge that she hasn’t killed anyone associated with the Grey - a fact often overlooked or blown out of proportion. Meanwhile, Jinx's actions - killing people, bombing the city, and causing widespread chaos - are somehow excused or dismissed. Yet, when Caitlyn does something controversial, people suddenly become concerned about innocent lives. For the record, I don’t hate Jinx. I understand her backstory and appreciate her complexity as a character (I also have a lot of love for Powder). But it’s frustrating to see how some viewers are quick to forgive one character’s mistakes while holding another to an impossibly high standard simply because she doesn’t fit their personal preferences. Bias towards favorite characters is natural, but it would be far more constructive if people made an effort to consider other perspectives and appreciate the depth of all the characters in the story.

There is a really good video essay about vi that explains why she reacts the way she does in episode three that i am recommending to everyone. It does not have spoilers for the second and third acts because it was made in the gap between them. After watching that video i was less baffled by this episode. I do also like Georgina Dow’s video about Caitlyn. Again no spoilers because it was released between acts one and two. Vi is a tragic himbo channel name squircle. Watch if your are interested.

@ilikepineappleonpizza4257 last time I checked she was striking back at the Chem Barons facilities and crew not the general population of the Undercity. Also chemical warfare? She used the Grey to clear the streets and strike at specific locations for all we have seen, it only hit the Chem Barons goons.

@ilikepineappleonpizza4257 last I checked she was only striking back at the Chem Barons not the general population of the Undercity and she did it by controlling the realese of the Grey in strategic points to clear out the streets in order to take down the Chem Barons facilities and goons. Oh and unlike Caitlyn, Jinx just flat out blew up the ventilation system to flood Piltover with the Grey.

@@ironbeard4050I've had to say this many times but tear gas doesn't work like that, that shit just spreads and from what we can see in real life there are ALWAYS innocent people who have to deal with being tear gassed even though they are not the "target" simply because the places where this activity you want to stop occurs are still in public places and probably a block away there is simply living a family that now has to figure out how to deal with the tear gas. Living in a central part of the city many times that person who has had to put their head in water with baking soda to be able to relieve myself from the tear gas has been me, I'm sure that was not the intention of the police but if you just show up and throw tear gas in the street DO NOT expect that it will only affect your target

@@ironbeard4050Also, depending on where you release the gas, the chemicals will most likely stay there for a few days. One year, the police threw tear gas bombs at my school on a Saturday, and on Monday, even though they chased us at least 100 meters from the room where they threw the tear gas bomb, the entire building was still uninhabitable. Our eyes were red and breathing was an unpleasant experience.

Because Jinx is reckless and crazy and you expect her to behave that way. Caitlyn is supposed to moral, is in some position of authority, and you expect her to be responsible and even keeled. You hold Caitlyn to a higher standard because she needs to be held to a higher standard.
