Even though we may want someone, something, it's not always the way we expect to get what we want so in the morale of the movie's direction is that organically we achieve what we want not by magic but the path we take in what we choose can lead to better things. The song also says "it'll be okay" so just because you're not where everyone else is, you're gonna be fine (in time)

This song... Was a song that always played in a movie id watched with my dad. And then my dad died.. after I left him because I didn't want to do drugs with him anymore or be the person I was and I was his best friend and I betrayed him... And Everytime I thought of doing the drug we did together.. I shit you not at work at Publix, on my Spotify, on my radio, any time I thought of it... I thought of doing the drug.. We did together, that killed him and could have killed me... This songs plays. Even in my dreams when i dream of it .

It's not your fault your dad continued to do drugs. He had your example of walking away and didn't do that. It's not your fault that he continued using. That's why I've never walked away from or not someone in my family who has had a drug problem. Most of my family, and a few suicides. Being around it can be hell, and I've had death but I knew in my gut to stay until the end. Walking away is betrayal, but you have to forgive yourself especially if you didn't mean any harm.
