BPD is a tough one, and is somewhat often misdiagnosed. I overcame BPD (they call it "remission" as apparently it can come back, but no. Just no. I'm not ever going to allow it to.), and there's a horrible stigma that is thrown because of people like Leah. I've had my BPD used against me so many times, and I wasn't like Leah. I threw everything into therapy, and I'm not the only one who felt the weight and got the hate for honestly trying to be better. BPD can be genetic, but it's usually (as I know, I'm not a psychiatrist here) trauma borne, so if Leah was on the end of some childhood trauma, or it's genetic, either way, people like her are why the stigma is so heavy. It's funny how she mentioned autism, as someone with autism and PTSD and/or CPTSD can look A LOT like BPD, and being a woman and getting an autism diagnosis is absolute hell. I hated fighting for mine, when it was absolutely obvious to everyone, including my psychiatrist, that I had it. Either way, I hope Leah pull her head out of her ass. Mental health issues are not a reason nor excuse for bad behavior. Period.

And her friends are hardly great either, they want to act like they have the moral high ground standing up for their abused friend, then threaten to jump people and engage in long term bullying. OP’s sister is in a state of constant acting to hide her own internal feelings. Her own self-loathing was redirected at OP and “Claire”. She made herself the victim because she wanted the praise and attention. She wasn’t going to get it from her parents because the eldest son is already the gay child. She blames OP for everything because she’s not capable of introspection. She only stays with the mom because she’ll be coddled and it’s the closest she’s going to be to how her life was before everything blew up. Based on everything, I think this story has no happy ending. OP’s mom will never admit to being wrong, and will likely cut contact because the sister tells her to. OP’s sister will never admit to having anything wrong with her, so it’s likely she’ll only contact her dad because she wants something. Hell, I give it 18 months until OP’s brother cuts contact with them because of how they’re acting. If OP’s sister showed a genuine interest in getting better, the dad would be shelling out the cash for therapy and medications. But she’s not, so the dad just has to think about what he missed or could’ve done differently.

Leah sounds a lot like my own sister too. Came out as a lesbian, my parents were supportive, I was supportive, the only one not happy about it was my little brother who claimed he didn't want to talk to her anymore. Well, it turned out her "coming out" was just an excuse for my brother as my sister has abused him for years just as she has done to me. Of course, because the response wasn't what she wanted, she started spreading lies about us hating her and threatening to kick her out of the house for her sexuality. I don't even live with my parents anymore but she dragged me into it too. And yes, she's mentally unwell. She has BPD. She wasn't even a lesbian until she started hanging out with other LGBT people during one of her hospital stays, I know this because we used to be very close as kids and I knew about several crushes she had on guys from her classes.
