In an interview with Heather Daybell, Chad's sister-in-law, on Hidden True Crime, she talks in detail about the coersive control and manipulation that Chad had his late wife Tammy and his kids under for decades. Tammy was isolated from her family members, she was emotionally abused, constantly denigrated and lied about to others by Chad. He kept his children under tight rules all their lives and they were indoctrinated with his ghost and demon fantasies from a very young age. According to the Daybell neighbour in Rexburg, there are still hundreds of people who follow his "teachings" and who believe that he was framed and that him being in prison is a sign or a trial or whatever. It is therefore quite logical that his children are also brainwashed into believing that he is a victim of demons, and probably Lori herself as well, as he seems to have dropped his "exalted goddess" since he was incarcerated. Sometimes, the truth, the facts and the reality are so horrible that people cannot face and accept it, and for these young people to accept that their controlling, fornicating father has murdered their mother and that he was involved in so many other, even more horrendous deaths might be too much to deal with. Sometimes, denial is the only coping strategy one has left. It is not a good one, but still the only one.

Samantha and Jason are wonderful people. She’s a high school teacher and drama coach in Springfield. My goodness! Tammy was so beautiful. Lovely, natural beauty. And she sounds like such a sweet lady. A lady, a true lady. I feel such a sense of sadness for all, but Samantha, a lot. I know how much I depend upon my sister and how different my life would be without her. I think the nation, maybe even the world, suffers the loss of Tyler, JJ, Charles, and Tammy. I think about Tammy every day.

Chad wanted to cremate Tammy's body, but her family refused 3. Chad refused any autopsy of Tammy 4. Lori's "protector" brother Alex Cox's phone showed that he was in the area the night Tammy was murdered 5. Alex had attempted to kill Tammy by shooting her, about nine days before he finally murdered her. When he had failed, Lori exclaimed, "Idiot can’t do anything right by himself" 5. Chad and Lori texted each other, and referred to Tammy's "death percentages" 6. Chad determined that Tammy was possessed by a spirit named "Viola" whereupon Chad texted Lori: “Hello, sweet angel. Big news about Tammy. Please let me know if you are awake and can talk. I love you!" 7. Chad filed for the life insurance within a few days after the death. Then refinanced their home. 8. Tammy's husband Chad had increased Tammy's life insurance to the maximum amount, just 6 weeks before her murder 9. While the kids' dead bodies were being dug out of Chad's backyard, Chad was watching, and he was sending $8,000 a piece to three of his kids 10. Lori and Chad were married just two weeks after Tammy's murder. They had been planning their wedding since BEFORE Tammy was killed 11. Lori had bought her wedding dress and the wedding rings, and the flights to Hawaii, weeks before Tammy was murdered. 12. Chad had said that he had a "prophecy" that Tammy would die 13. The day Tammy's body was exhumed, Lori told Alex's brand new wife, who then told Alex. 14. Alex Cox told his new wife, "I think I’m being their fall guy,” and then died the very next day.

Sadly there was only Chad living who could cajole and act the lost loving husband to his children, and OF COURSE they would believe their parents who has been feeding them lies about her waning health so had prepared them for it in a way. I don’t understand why they didn’t want an autopsy, apparently it was the children’s decision ( again taking away any pressure from Chad) but I think they may query her death being due to “ ASPHYXIATION “ may have had some of them thinking a bit more carefully……I thought Tammy was supposed to be training for a marathon, but perhaps that was misreported. It’s really sorry for those children, but I still have in my head the animal that Chad had shot on the fence..and made a point of ringing Tammy to tell her that it was a big one (raccoon?) which he told her he’d buried in their pets cemetery. The exact place that Tylee and JJ were buried….I just feel that the so called BIG raccoon he shot was actually Tylee trying to get away…as in a matter of days her remains having also been burnt in the fire pit were found, and JJ wrapped in polythene was also found buried quite close by…in this Pets Cemetery. But I think he had help with killing JJ and the burials, disposal etc by Max, Lorri’s brother. Such a shame he isn’t here to be closely questioned!
