Such a great lesson on the paper piecing! Put your sawtooth on opposite corners, and fill in the rest of the border plain. Or you could divide your sawtooth into sections to be put in the middles of all four sides. You could put the sawtooth on just the top and bottom and regular fabric on the sides. I often do my borders different. I like things balanced but not identical! Love your quilt! '

You could still use your triangles. Just make part triangles and part solid border. Have seen this in other quilts and it is really cute and doesn't overwhelm the focus on body of quilt. Just my 2 cents. 😊

Perhaps you could have used a grouping of the flying geese then Christmas colors and more flying geese then Christmas colors to make all four sides work. Can't wait to see your finished product.. I second what dorenekemp710 says below....Use the triangles for part of the borders and solid material for the rest. Make them connect at the corners, right upper and left lower. It will look like you meant to do it! Super cute quilt but kinda fiddly.

Just finished downloading my pattern. Just love it when things are PDF, no waiting for snail mail. I have been doing my flipping corners just shy of the line for some time. You can use a tracing wheel to score lines and that will make folding and trimming much easier. It also helps in removing the paper. Love your work.

If you switched the smaller rectangles toward the open space and add one to the upper frame it would resemble a door frame on a real door. You could get more realistic by connecting the three pieces together so as to have a diagonal in each corner. More work I know, but also more realistic. Just giving a suggestion. 😊

Well Di, I did it. I found the panel for the Merry Village Quilt and just put it all together today. I had to adjust the houses because I bought a jelly roll by mistake. It worked out fine. Just made the roof section 8" not 8.5".

Use the triangles on the corners of your border, have 2 or 3 together on each corner. Stay inside in the heat! It's been 119 here several days in a row. I water plants early in the morning and stay inside in air conditioning during the day! Lots of sewing getting done. 😅🎉

I purchased a ream of newspaper print on Amazon for paper piecing. It really makes a difference from regular copy paper and because it comes just like copy paper you can run the pattern through your copy machine.

Hi Di. With your foundation piecing, I find it easier to fold the paper back and trim fabric to quarter inch before you add the next piece of fabric. You still need to check to see if the patch will cover your paper, but it’s a lot easier to line up your next piece. I really enjoy your videos. Cheers from Australia.

Love the Christmas pattern. I have a suggestion for the piecing on the 10 houses. You could use a brown or white for door frame or white with Holly on them. I think that would be fantastic!❤

What company produces the jelly roll? I have a panel of Bramble and would love to make this quilt. I LOVE IT!! I think that I could put on some Christmas music, Kenny G, and quilt away while the humidy is in the 90's and the temp in in the 90's also. Oh and an air quality warning for the next 2 days!! The jelly roll was Merriment by Moda, I know that Maggies on Main in Emmett ,ID has some Merriment and I bet you could find it somehwere with the internet. If you can't I think there are som many Christmas lines out there you could use jsut about any print. Thank you for watchingmy channel and enjoy Kenny G😍

Would love to move out there - I don't think I would even mind the cold and the snow!!! Adorable quilt! Silly question : Do you like your rotary cutter? I find myself watching how you cut your fabric. I don't think I could get used to that cutter. Did you use the standard before and switch or have you always used that type? I warned you it might be called silly... :D

I do like my brewery cutter, and it only took a day or so to get used to. There’s another ergonomically rotary cutter out there made by the Grace company, I want to try that one. And just the other day in a video I used a a standard one with a 60 mm blade😊❤️🐥. thank you for asking and watching my channel.❣️
