Love those fabrics! I had such a moment --- I think it was a WalMart but I can't remember exactly. I had just pieced a game board top for a quilt the grands could use at the beach or a picnic. It was sections that included hopscotch, I Spy, checkers/chess, and tic tac toe. At a store for something else, I stumbled onto the biggest towel I had ever seen! I don't remember the dimensions, but it was on clearance for four bucks and needed no piecing. A perfect backing for the beach/play quilt!

What an awesome quilt. I saw Kris's video with the beach towel, she was equally excited. The quilting on the back came out great. If you have a serger running thru that long side before stitching the two towels together it would have finished the Terry towel off and cut that edge off in one step, leaving a nice edge, and the stitching wouldn't be bulky either. You have great ideas and tips, I appreciate and love, love your videos and the Engineer's comments in them, they always give me a chuckle.

Such a cute quilt! I've used towels for backings on 4 quilts this summer. I didn't use batting though because we used them as towels on our boat for drying off after swimming. 😊
