Sisterlocks Growth in 4 Months

My guest has very fine, curly hair and wearing her hair loose was causing breakage and thinning so we established her Sisterlocks and her hair has transformed drastically in only 4 months!

This is my biggest hesitation about having Sisterlocks installed. I have very fine, low density long hair and I really don't want that scalpy look. I love locs and I had traditional locs for 13 years until they were so long that my roots couldn't hold them up so I shaved them. I love Sisterlocks and I'm hoping that I won't have that issue with them but I don't know if I could stand the scalpy look that I see on this video. How long have you had your SL and are you still scalpy?

I love the grid pattern, I was locked 2yrs and ran across sister locs, I cut my locks off starting fresh, now waiting to grow a few more inches to get in to see a consultant

Though I like the appearance of sister locs, after watching KZbinrs talk about the time it takes to have them installed, costs, and the retightening process I decided to go with small-medium locs. I also wanted to maintain my own hair. I couldn't imagine having to maintain more than 106 locs.

I have had my sisterlocks for almost 11 months and I love it. It's been so easy for me to maintain versus when I was a loose natural. I settled on locs because most of my life minus the time when I was natural I always wore extensions or crochet twist. Granted I took a risk with my locs and did not braid or band my hair when washing but I didn't have any issues. I would not recommend doing that though cause it could be expensive to fix if the loc slips or unravels. I would make this choice again if I had to.

I'd never considered locks before until recently when I saw someone's video about sisterlocks. Now I'm super interested but being a lazy natural who's been to a salon maybe 3 times in 5 years of being natural, I'm intimidated by the amount of regular maintenance they require. They're gorgeous though!

Cost - no. Look - not my thing...like them thicker. But I have seen some gorgeous Sisterlock women (PR Charles, for example)...once they mature a couple of years down the road. But as always, to each their own. That's the beauty of our Loc Nation... so much VARIETY!

Hey ...I do not like sister locs for myself although they look nice but like this lady's hair my hair is thin and my hair was experiencing breakage and another reason why I went to traditional locs is that I like medium size locs and too because they are costly to maintain..thanks & blessings

After doing my research I decided I definitely wanted Sisterlocks so I took the course and now I can install them as well as keep them maintained. Less costly that way over time.

Thanks for showing a video of a woman with fine hair. I fall into that category. I've had SLs for 16 months now. It definitely is more time-consuming and more costly than traditional locs (I certainly don't like these things). I had traditional for about 15 years before becoming a loose natural for 6 years. This time around I wanted something different and my hair texture has changed since having children. The cool thing about hair choices is the journey. Peace and blessings to you.

No Sisterlocks are patented and require a trained consultant if you want to do it yourself you should get locs started with interlocking or braidlocks.

Just had mine installed 3/2 and 3/3/2019!! I love them. I have thick hair and the loose natural was expensive (my choice of hair products that worked for me)and time consuming. So I took that money and invested it into sister locks! Love it so far can’t wait till they mature.

Thank you for sharing your video. Your locks are lovely and I love the way they have transformed. I recently got sisterlocks and I have fine low density hair and have been anxiously waiting to see some volume development. I was hoping to find someone who has about 300 locs so I can have an idea of what they'll look like after a few months. I have 313 and my consultant told me that it'll fill out. I guess I need to be a little patient. Any idea how many you have on your head? Anybody with loc number in the same region?

She has a little over 400... For the amount you have try looking up people with small microlocs it will give you a better idea than people with Sisterlocks which are generally well over 400 locs. I hope that helps!
