Yes, I do understand that decision. A new season in life could mean Sisterlocks are no longer the best for you. I guess you pivot... I'll do the same, I guess. For now, I'm still enjoying the journey even with the ups and downs.

I love sisterlocs but I did not want to wait on the consultation and the test locs. So I got microlocs and I'm very happy with my decision. It cost less and I don't have to hassle of finding a certified sisterloc consultant! Also they are not quite so tiny. Some of mine locs were really small so they were combined and are now a lot healthier!

I love my Sisterlocks however when anyone asks me about them I always introduce them to microlocks. If I had to do it over I would have taken microlocks as you said they look the same only difference is the grid I guess!

Your right both very beautiful and similar I choose SisterLocks because my hair texture and I never really wanted to maintain my hair I was over that whole process & that’s why I locked my hair. I actually really love going to get my hair done every 4 weeks and chatting with my loctitan. Thanks for the video

Love your locs, love your accent. Have watched you on and off, just subbed today. Lucky girl took out her over 1000 locks very recently. There's been an epidemic of tiny loc sistas either taking out or shaving off their locks in the past 1-2 months.

Hi Anny I’m 10.5 mos Sisterloc’d and absolutely love ❤️ my locs. However after seeing microlocs diy videos etc. I really like the look of microlocs. I’m not a fan of the Sisterlocs grid, pricing or rules lol. My daughter has traditional locs and I love 💗 her pics too. Traditional locs has more style ranges I think. And Sisterlocs look more like loose natural hair at least my thin fine low density locs mirrors my loose curl natural hair. All locs are beautiful 😍. I wished I would have loc’d my hair years ago.

I agree, microlocs are better. Cost significantly less to install, and there are no rules! I DIY my own micro-twist locs in April 21'. I do not like to rely on anyone. I watched a lot of videos. BTW....I'm an introvert also.🙃

I've had such a hard time finding back up people for mine so I begrudgingly do my own retires ..to curl my hair, I use wrap aloc rods to curl my hair and the curls LAST...I love it because the curls last longer...I have sister locs and I am 3 years into my loc journey...losing locks initially was devastating but now I evaluate nd assess the loc to see what went wrong

Due to the higher price and difficulty finding consultants I feel that Microlocks are a better option. For sparse hair Sisterlocks grid may be a better choice.

Lol I'm an introvert also and it took me years to get 1K subbies, no complaints. I love my sisterlocks, I think with my fine hair it was the best decision however, I think microlocs are really good for people with higher density hair

Really appreciate this conversation and your honest reflections. I keep bouncing back and forth between wanting microlocs and just HAVING to have sisterlocks, and this is so helpful to consider.

@@AnnyKeyz That's one of the big sticking points for me. I am a huge DIY-er and always do my hair myself, haven't been to a stylist in years. But I would hate to spend days and weeks trying to do my own microlocs just to mess up the parting and grid and miss the versatility and neatness that sisterlocks is supposed to provide. I don't want a permanent style that looks like a DIY job lol I also watched Queen Eleem's videos and love how hers turned out, just not confident I can figure it out on my own, or maintain a grid long term... Holding off on doing either until one definitely feels right because I will NOT be trying to comb out locs on the back end 😂😂😂 definitely appreciate those of you that share the pros, cons and differences because we all have different priorities

Hey Anny! I did my own micro loc’s last June. I followed Queen Elem but didn’t make them as small and Bindy. I can see every mistake I made but no one else can but their my mistakes. I don’t have to rely on anyone for anything. Love your loc’s ☺️

Do you have your reties on dry or damp hair? I follow a micro loc/sister loc page and that conversation came up and there are those who prefer damp hair. What are your thoughts?
