Excellent work and storytelling :) You showed Sisters of Battle and I think the Kill Team Novitiate is a good pick. Even includes a whip. From what I remember it was the most infamous/popular in the various FAQs back when the game was released. Also, I always thought the Frostgrave Sigilist wizards would be a good fit for Mordheim nuns :)

Nice job with the color coding! Did the opposite thing for my night goblin warband. Red for henchmen and yellow for heroes. Very useful for warbands where henchmen and hero minis look very similar. That allowed me to kitbash quite a few heroes from the generic night goblin sprues.

Also i don't know if you are curing the prints before taking off the supports but I always wash my prints in IPA, then take off the supports, and then cure them - makes taking off supports far easier without damaging the models.

I wasn't a big fan of Mordheim or age of Sigmar, but I am a fan of your crafting skills. And honestly these ladies you painted up took my breath away. The way their hair turned out was amazing. I commented out loud to the TV how awesome they looked and my wife said "No Thomas we cant afford you starting another game you wont play." But where theres a will theres always a way. Love Mordheim. Last game my Undead ended up teaming up with the Sisters. (The conceit is that my Vampire thinks that he is one of the good guys. He's wrong, but he does try.) Facing off against Reiklanders and Witch Hunters. The only shooty guy on our side was one of my dregs, with a crossbow. My vampire even managed to save the matriarch - doubling up with her against the Witch Hunter's leader. Those Monstrous Encounters sisters look excellent - I need to add them to my arsenal.

If you only had asked, I could have sent you some of the original Sisters of Sigmar. My bunch do only sleep -partially painted- in a box all time. So if you want to make any sort of indentation into the foam: XPS foam. If you're just using it to bulk-up for a hill or such? EPS foam! Hope that helps! 👍😅

You should also remove the supports before curing the resin, I'm guessing since you're using pliers and not wearing gloves you're doing it after curing. Before curing if you soak them in hot water it makes the supports really soft and they'll just peel right off. Only problem is the water, you don't want to be pouring that into a drain so what I do is put it in a glass jar and set that outside to cure with sunlight and evaporate.@@DevsDice

I recently went from an Elegoo printer to an Anycubic, and the difference has been MASSIVE. Part of it, I think, is the fact that the Anycubic is a more recent model, with all the generational improvements one might expect, but even accounting for that (and comparing the results I was getting from my Mars Pro to a friend's who got a Photon around the same time) I suspect that Anycubic just makes better machines. Getting your settings really dialed in can improve your results, certainly, but at the end of the day there's a mechanical limit to how much of a difference it can make. The other thing to consider is your resin. There are many who seem to swear by SirayaTech Fast Navy Grey, and I have to say I've had no complaints with it apart from its tendency to separate quite quickly. It captures detail extremely well, and also has the benefit of being a lot tougher than many other UV resins. Even if you don't want to take the drastic step of switching printers at this time, trying out different resins to find one you like might improve your results somewhat - it certainly did on my Mars.

To help getting the supports off, once you have washed them and before your cure them. The best thing to get the supports off is hot water. Dip them in and the supports will just fall away. Care is needed around thin parts, but this is still some much easier than removing once fully cured. Loving the work!

I am building a sos warband now from a box called Sisters of Talliareum. They are more like plate armored knights with capes, but I like them a lot. I needed some kitbashing and green stuff to make the steel whips though.

Oh - also "Monstrous Encounters" does a dedicated Sisters of Sigmar crew. I've grabbed their Matriarch & Augur STL, as I didn't have a suitable Augur model, and will use their Matriarch as the Sisters' Dramatis Personae, "Bertha Bestraufrung". Loads of weapon options there as well.

Heresy has some cool battle nuns in their fantasy range too. After some searching, i ordered some of those. They are stl or printed, which is nice for someone without printer. Also, dont underestimate the steelwhips. Bring a couple to complement the hammers. Also, slings. Cheap and fast firing. In the beginning of a campaign a viable tool. Might as well shower the enemy with stones while closing in.

Kudos to your painting, modelling and overall skills. The board, buildings, etc. look great and with a dark twisted undertones, as they should have in Mordheim. I personally prefer hand made to printed ones, as you have more freedom of expression, can make the buildings nice as well as playable and ready for a human hand moving little toy soldiers. Can you maybe please share the experience how well does the paint last on the XPS - my experience with larger pieces was that the paint peeled off. So Im wandering if it was the quality of the paint or what. Thanks for the content, it is great!

Celestia sacrosanct make for awesome Mordheim models. I used them for part of my marauders. Another nice one is clan esher from necromunda, especially the death maidens. they also come with wardogs if you decide to get some ;).

After dialing in the settings , removing supports before curing in some warm water with a small brush, knife, and clipper is the easiest way.

Yes, Resing printing can be challenging went taking out the supports, I don't know if you use hot water or hot air technics to soften the supports. That is what I use to minimize breaking the figures, but sometimes it happens any way.

Thanks for the suggestion Martin Carrizales! I did actually soak them in hot water but the supports had welded into these thick rows of melted resin so that did not always help! 👍😅

I ended up using Sororitas Novitiates for my Sisters.I shaved off all the 40k bits and added bits from flagellant and clan rats in lieu of hammers. I only had a couple hammers but I feel like flails get the point across just as well.

Sisters is a tough warband to play. The no ranged weapons is rough. But the payoff is great when the warband is successful.

I had some friends recommend Mordheim for that fantasy edge and I got a bit excited, but then I found out it's just another part of the Warhammer universe and you have to buy their models? Nah, I'm still happy buying a few D&D things and Frostgrave or other fantasy kits lol. I wish Warhammer would make their hobby more affordable.

Thanks for commenting Brave Little Pixel! The truth is that you do NOT need to use Games Workshop miniatures at all! There are plenty of folks using kits for Frostgrave or models for D&D who enjoy Mordheim! Do not let that stop you! 👍😊

I bought the same models myself off Etsy just last week. I've mostly stuck to the original models for Mordheim but i feel like the sisters have really aged the worst and this set really seems to get the imagery from Blanches art and really suit the same tabletop as the OG witch hunters or marienbergs and the like. Credit to the artist really. Now if only we could get something like that for Carnival of Chaos, now theres an expensive model range!
