This morning when I grabbed my knitting bag to take to the computer, I told my husband, “Goodbye. I’m off to Norway! I’ll be back ‘in 15 minutes.’” He replied, “Tell the boys Hey from me.” So, Billy says, “Hey!” (Hey is Tennessean for Hi.) 😃

Oh, the stash room sounds like my two sewing rooms (my second story). Three sewing machine tables, a cutting table, lots of shelves loaded with jars of buttons and things, bolts and bins of fabric and yarns, two recliners, a sink and refrigerator, a computer, and so what! I vacuum as needed, I have an air purifier to keep the fiber dust away, and oh dear, I keep a glass of water next to my serger and sometimes it’s there for three days without washing it! But it’s my creative space with lots of color and projects and fibers. It’s a fun place. You two and the pups put joy in my days. Thank you. Gail K.

Arne's English has improved so much since I started watching the podcasts. I just watched the podcast from Aug 1, 2021 which was about tension while knitting stranded mittens and he spoke English very well on that podcast. In the past, he always deferred to Carlos when he wasn't sure about a certain English word he wanted to say, but he seemed to speak very well during that podcast, without having to rely on Carlos to help him out.

Carlos, when hanging picture groups, layout a large piece of craft paper the size of the space you are decorating. Lay the paper on the floor and move your pictures around until you get the spacing you like. Trace around the photos and measure where your nail goes. Place your paper level on the wall. Nail where you measured then one all the nails are done, pull the paper off and hang your picture.

Last Christmas, after making so many knitted and felted gifts, the abundance of yarn, fiber and supplies was scattered everywhere in my home. I had pathways to walk and sometimes trip over stuff everywhere. 3.5 years ago I needed to downsize to a smaller house. My home now is a very small 2 bedroom and 1 bath home. So this entire year I've been decluttering everything, sort of like Swedish Death Cleaning. Because I'm a little older (68) and live alone, I'm doing it for my children. After many conversations I now know they want very little of what I own currently. I don't want them to be inundated with my craft supplies and excessive stuff. So I'm learning to live with what I love and letting go of past purchases I no longer need. The hard part is where to take the newly unwanted items. In saying that, I would love to see your stash rooms. I understand how it can get out of control. But I get inspired looking at what yarn is there. I'm a visual style organizer. If it's out of sight it's out of mind and I end up getting more 'stuff' because I forgot or couldn't find something in my stash. I have enough yarn to last a lifetime it seems, but I always want more. I want to have my yarn shelf look beautiful and on display like a small yarn store. So it tells me I can let go of yarn I have little interest in keeping, in order to bring in new yarn I will love and make many projects with. Even if the old yarn is stashed in a clear box in the garage, I need to see what I want to work with, not a mishmash of unknowns. By then end of this year I will be an expert and can help you anytime to sort and organize your stash rooms. Haha Just say when!
