Siwa: The most least Egyptian part of Egypt

Siwa, which is almost in Libya, was only just about in Ancient Egypt before it ended. And it has a correspondingly strange place in Egypt's culture and history.

Even in the game I remember there were side quests where the Egyptians were complaining about how they were being mistreated by some Greeks and some didn’t appreciate Greek temples that replaced Egyptian temples like in Karanis

As I remember, the game did a broadly good job showing strong differences in class between most Egyptians and most Greeks during the Ptolemaic era. Obviously there was a bit of artistic licence to drive the point home, but it wasn't a documentary!

As a gay person I'm very saddened that their gay marriage practices were suppressed but I'm not surprised by it given what I know about modern Egypt.
