The "weird" sax patch has "cresc" in the name - it's a crescendo, so the volume fades in. Which is what it was doing - you just have to alter your playing accordingly.

But it starts the crescendo after first playing the note at normal volume. Shouldn't a crescendo start building up after you play the key?

@@ermingtrudefelafel5167 there's an articulation called fp (fortepiano) or sfp, sfzp (sforzato/sforzandopiano ), followed by crescendo, that's characteristic for horn ensembles. Meaning, accented attack, sudden drop, crescendo. Maybe if he played the note with less velocity it wouldn't have that attack. But anyway you have to use the patches for what they're made for.

@@ermingtrudefelafel5167 It's more of a swell after the initial attack phase though, rather than a "fade in the note". But yeah, Vladimir below answers that one.

Why is it that my free instruments don't show images??
@tomcootemusic2 жыл бұрын
Which ones? All of them? If you run full Kontakt instruments in Kontakt Player then they will often come up like this with red text saying 'Demo Mode'. Or you might not have copied down all the resource files? Or you might have moved the .nki files out of the original hierarchy so they can't find the images through a relative path to the resouces folder.
