Where was this video 2 days ago when I spent a bunch of money
@abrotherinchrist2 ай бұрын
As someone who has spent thousands on VSTs and VSTis, I would highly recommend newcomers to the digital audio world to spend a lot of time collecting free stuff and trying it out before spending a dime. You WILL be surprised at what you find. I wish I could have those thousands back so I could buy something I really need. The trap is SALES. That's how they get you. 50% off of $800 is still $400.

After spending quite some time looking for free flute VSTs, here's what I can recommend: Ivory Wind By Embertone, Feroyn’s Flute by Walid Feghali, Folk Winds by Hereafter Soundtracks. I think MuseScore is also worth mentioning as it offers much in terms of dynamics and articulations.

Well done, Kevin! It took a lot of work to put it all together. I think this video is very useful not just for beginners. With this arsenal of freebies, everybody can create very complex and sophisticated music, and when it gets into the right hands, I dare say, not many people can tell the difference to paid libraries. Freebie libraries have their limitations and it is relatively difficult to mix sounds from different rooms, but the journey is sometimes a destination. My favourite is the same as yours, Minimalist Violins. When I discovered it a year ago, my jaw dropped.

You need to ditch LABs from the list, they've made the plugin spectacularly ugly and actually unusable in an effort to push their low value subscription offering. I've lost a lot of respect for them. I was just about to throw down my cold hard cash on SSO, but I'm now reconsidering...
