Excellent review as ever Wildkard. As for the 2 late English tries, it wasn't about England doing anything better, it was Ireland sitting back when they knew they had a bonus point win. In fact that English bonus point may work in Ireland's favour as England will have a bit more belief next weekend when they play France at Twickenham. A surprise England win against France would do Ireland's chances a world of good. Not saying Ireland did it on purpose but it could be good for them if someone else beat France first. As for England, I thought they did very well, they fought hard against a clearly stronger team and it was significant how effective the Irish bench was in comparison to the English bench. I'm an Irish fan , but there are signs that England are beginning to improve. Dublin is not a place many teams can come away with a win. As for the Irish performance, it was good, not great, but...I look at Leinster, they're not playing great at the moment but have won 15 out of 15 of all their club games this season.

Congrats to Ireland, for beating a very determined English side. England gave a very tight contest right to the end with 2 late tries, but unfortunately, just came short. Also, there was one miner call that Ben O'keefe made that I didn't agree with. It was during an Irish Line-out. Ben O'Keefe awarded Ireland with a Penalty, because of Ben's side of things, he thought he saw the new English Captain Mario Itoje Intentionally tried to push down a Irish player, that was holding one of the Irish players locks up. But on replay, Mario Itojie literally just tapped one of the Irish players that was holding the Irish locks up! So..yeah apart from that one soft penalty, it was a intense game.

England's defence in the first half was excellent. Over all Ireland played well enough got to bonus point and won. Disappointed we left England get the bonus point

Your boy Ben O'Keefe had a bit of a strange game some of his calls put England on the back foot but England made matters worse with some silly errors of their own

I'm a Ireland fan, so happy to see England lose.. but it's quite clear Steve Borthwick is not the man to get the best of that crop of England players. He wants to play his way, (pressure and box kicks) instead of the way that would best suit those players, running rugby, it's what naturally fits alot of England's current crop. Stuart Lancaster/Mike Catt would be a much better fit for England right now. English stubbornness will see Borthwick there until the next World Cup tho, which is great for the rest of us 😅

I wouldn't gloat so much, as it was literally a single fabricated penalty that gave you the lead and swung the momentum of the game. The result could have very easily gone the other way

Your take on this game is completely wrong, England went all out to stop Ireland tackle after tackle defend their 22 and line and doing that you run out of gas and they did and Ireland destroyed them. You also have to understand this is the 6 nations you get one chance to beat each team and pressure and nerves will always be there on the first game, you can lose the 6 nations on day 1 but you cannot win it. You were right about Mitchell 😅

Mate it's ok. If you want clear dialogue without passion, there are plenty of boring channels out there that replicate the highlights. Keep up the passion Wildkard! Just one thing, what's with O'Keeffe and his scrum decisions against the English scrum when they were on their line? He gave a free kick to Ireland because he said England were moving too far forward when they set. Meanwhile, there was hardly any movement when you watched the footage live and replay. Also, Itojo must piss the reg off because that so called lineout shove was non-existent and I'm not Itojo's number one fan, but decisions like that don't help the game. Also when are ref's going to get this hinging call right. The Irish tight head frequently over extends and yet no penalty against him.

@@cosmic_diverI agree re Wildkard...I hope he keeps his passion and style of delivery. As regards England they were constantly pushing their luck with the ref...infringing all over the place.
