I think the reason Nagato was crippled is that while his legs were fixed, the muscles had atrophied to the point of uselessness. He needed to absorb the Tailed beast chakra to restore the required muscle mass to move.

Muscle degeneration is a natural effect of Nagato barely moving for the better part of a decade. It's not definite, of course, but it's better than any other reason I can think of why he wouldn't be able to walk when summoned, but would be able to after absorbing TB chakra.

Taking into account the argument that Edo Itachi might still be blind - I feel like for someone like Itachi, Kabuto would want to revive him with his ocular powers intact. He is an Uchiha with a sharingan, of course, and one of the strongest genjutsu in the verse. He already set the precedent for improving edos, as he did with Madara's. So, I don't think it's farfetched to say he'd do the same for Itachi. Actually, it's shown he was revived with his vision, because after using Izanami, his eye is drawn blind. So, either he was revived with his vision intact, or Kabuto fixed it.

Well to be fair, you can't overuse your dojutsu as an Edo. I think Itachi was blind since he had his sharingan active always, it was his physical restraint that kept him from using the eyes anymore during Sasuke fight. Izanami is a different case since it completely renders the eye useless same as Izanagi.

@@aymanriki1018 don’t think that’s quite it. If you look at the only 2 times we see someone go blind it completely shuts down the sharingan. We see this in the sasuke vs danzo aftermath he goes blind using his susanoo arrow on kakashi and after that he clashes with a sage mode trained naruto and stalemates him. And obito immediately teleports him away to get his new eyes. No matter which way you look at edo tensei everyone revived was ailmentless except nagato who didn’t need to be revived at full power because of rinnegan. Edit: sasuke and itachi go blind before their final susanoo moments and we see also madara uses susanoo without eyes at all. So susanoo is the only dojutsu ability blind uchiha have been shown using. Sasuke goes blind and his sharingan disappears for good right before danzo takes Karin. So all 3 cannon susanoo users have used susanoo while blind

I think the argument was moreso that edo Itachi was brought back with perfect eyes, but would still go blind after overusing the Mangekyo. Which could be hinted at by the fact that his eyes still bleed when using MS abilities, even as an edo

Or at the very least, from the time they first use it before blindness. Seeing as we see people use this with blindness, and also just no eyes at all it would be consistent to say so at least. I think swag made a video of it awhile ago but not too sure.

That's now how DNA works. It wouldn't matter when he went blind, his DNA would be the same. Unless sharingan alters your DNA, which wouldn't make sense since you can swap out sharingan like batteries

Edo uses blood to call back the soul which does the whole Edo thing, not the DNA. That's why Edo Tensei will bring you back at the age you died, or why you keep powers you artificially gained like the Gold/Silver brothers still having Kyuubi Chakra or Kakuzu still having Earth Grudge Fear.

I always thought Edo Tensei brought you back “at your peak” scaled to the strength of the jutsu caster. Nagato just so happened to be at his peak long after he was crippled by use of the Edo Statue. If Itatchis peak was pre-chakra disease he would be brought back at 100% health wise and his eyes would be a random percent healthy im guessing over 75-80%

That's because everything was retconned and ruined the story. Madara was always only itachi level. First hokage was only bad ass because he had high stamina and wood style. Second hokage was only OP because he had high stamina and extreme mastery of water style and invented cool jutsu. 3rd hokage was so strong because he knew so many bad ass jutsu and orochimaru wanted the sharingan to copy tons of jutsu because knowing lots of jutsu was made a person strong. Everything was retconned.

No Edo Itachi doesn’t have the blindness problem because he was revived to his prime or better than his prime meaning that his eyes are fully restored and when he uses the Mangekyou his eyes don’t bleed just as Obito’s don’t. Madara is the only one revived further than prime. When Itachi uses MS in Edo he still bleeds because it’s simply what dojutsu do when being used so hard, you can say that it’s possible that the eyes heal as quickly as they’re used though with the exception for full blindness by Izanami/Izanagi

I highly doubt Itachi goes blind while edo. Sasuke after getting his ms was going blind despite just unlocking it. Meanwhile Itachi shows no signs of going blind, his eyes don't bleed, and he isn't in pain while using his ms abilities either. You could argue that Izanami works differently compared to just being blind normally from overuse. Kinda like how lord mu couldn't use particle style while having his chakra divided despite having infinite chakra.

Edo Itachi does actually bleed when using his MS abilities, which I think hints that his eyes could eventually go blind again. Sasuke also spammed Amatarasu during 5 Kage summit and constantly had his susanoo out. Edo Itachi was more conservative when fighting Kabuto than Sasuke was when fighting the 5 Kage. Kabuto was also a shorter fight than the entire 5 Kage Summit battle was

Itachi didn't have the same blindness after Edo because Itachi's eyes were fake eyes, because his real eyes were combined with Sasuke. This is shown with Madara, when he got revived, his eyes crippled into dust, meaning that his eyes were fake Rinnegan.

Sasuke never went blind Itachi closed his eyes walking up to Sasuke to touch his forehead Sasuke has blury vision, but he didn’t close his eyes; it’s definitely confusing, but I think he ran out of chakra. I think if Sasuke was given a day to recover he would’ve been fine

For nagato I think it’s possible he was revived as a crippled because of the circumstances of his death, and using almost the entire last of his chakra pool and life force to bring a whole village back from death. and I don’t think itachi would regain his blindness or be reincarnated with blindness because after the Jutsu is released and itachi is in ghost mode the eye that went out from stopping kabuto was back to normal hence the spectral/spiritual form is separate from the physical one and he wouldn’t go back blind because of the stamina and physical regeneration because even tho it may not technically be physical damage it’s a form of durability and stamina damage.

Very likely he lied about nagato being the one who sensed where kabuto was, especially considering the narrative significance of that fight also had to do with how much of a liar both kabuto and itachi were.

About your question in regards to that Itachi might still have the blindness when he's edod, I don't that is the cause because his sharingan clearly runs out before he dies and he goes completely blind, if he was blind, well, then he would act a lot differently during his edo fights and couldn't have used his sharingan on top. Edit: Also he doesn't bleed anymore after using his mangekyou sharingan in his edo as far as I remember so I think that also shows he doesn't go blind, since the thing that made them go blind I think was that the abilities literally physically damage their eyes.

Alright are Ya'll ready for a Super Nerdy Analysis On Itachi? As For Edo Itachi. He 100% wasn't brought back with full sight. Meaning he's at about 80% power of Healthy but mostly Blind Itachi. (Irrelevant to what I'm about to discuss but just felt like agreeing with you.) When people refer to Healthy Itachi. 2 versions come to mind for me. the first is a suddenly healthy Itachi. who obviously would be just above Edo Itachi in Power level. (20% stronger but lacking immortality.) This version of healthy itachi isn't so hard to scale. It would be fair to just rank him 10% higher than Edo Itachi. (The biggest question being his chakra reserves. Health does in fact affect Chakra. So they should at the least be considerably higher than Sick Itachi's. But by how much? We simply cannot answer. I'll guesstimate it at doubling. He's clearly doubled in speed etc over The Sasuke fight at least as an edo.) An assumption of 10% overall buff compared Edo itachi seems fair. But maybe I'm just a bit Biased!? The Second is a theoretically never Sick Itachi. Obviously this is considerably Stronger than a suddenly healthy Itachi for 1 simple Reason. Instead of avoiding anything but the absolute necessity of training for 7 years. He can train as much as he wants to during those 7 years. Leading to an increase in Stamina, chakra reserves. Jutsu strength and variety, Skill, Battle Experience and physicals over a suddenly healthy Itachi. The degrees of which are technically uncalculatable. But not necessarily completely. We can base his power increase off of Other Geniuses and their progress over 7 year periods. Itachi being More of a genius than many others obviously matters for what he can accomplish with harder training. But we have to factor in that some of the increase in power that many would attribute to this healthy Itachi was already obtained by a sick version of him in the canon timeline. So I will simply have those two aspects cancel each other out. (it's the best I can do. Probably?) Based off of Scenes in the war arc of Kakashi facing Zabuza. (Which shows that while at 80% power and overall much weaker than Kakashi by this point they are still somewhat relative.) Zabuza is clearly not a non threat to Kakashi as of this fight. Still Kakashi is very clearly the superior of the 2. It's safe to assume that in the 3 years between Naruto part 1 and Shippuden. that Kakashi improved by about double over his Part 1 counterpart, and possibly 3 times when factoring in MS and Stamina improvements. (Which I wont as Itachi doesn't get a power buff like EMS. Yes I'm equating MS to EMS like sharingan to MS. I know it's not fully accurate but meh.) Using the change from 3 tomoe Kakshi in Part one and 3 Tomoe Kakashi in part 2 as a basis. 2X buff in 3 years. Factoring in Itachi's Genius but also factoring just possible improvements over what improvements are made for him ages 14 to 21 in the canon timeline. A healthy and realistic estimate of An always Healthy Itachi's power level after 7 years would be a 4x buff over a Suddenly Healthy Itachi. Or 4x Edo Itachi +10%. Meaning a 440% Improvement over Edo Itachi. I'm being as realistic as possible. In fact I could be argued at downplaying for the sake of believability. The answer is that Itachi should be approximately 4.4 times more powerful than Edo Itachi should he have never gotten ill.

1) I think scaling anyone using the 5 Kage fight is flawed to begin with b/c 3 of them had already been in combat for AWHILE, especially Ohnoki. Only Tsunade was relatively fresh-faced & 'primed' for combat. So they werent fighting anywhere near peak capacity. This never seems to be taken into account. Nor is the fact emotional state & mind-set determines alot about ones combat capability in Naruto. The Chakra Network is very much a physical, material thing that exists as a "organ" in their body & we see Resolve can drastically boost characters output. Best example of this being that Uchiha literally have that mechanic BUILT INTO THEIR CLAN with the Sharingan. Sasuke, Naruto, Neji, Nagato, Lee, Pain, Tsunade, Obito, etc ALL literally evolved mid-combat just from their emotions. So its safe to assume the condition/state of ones mind alters their Chakra. Canonically ALL users of Chakra have that feature, so the 5 Kage being tired & in fear of Madara, changes the scaling. 2) Edo Tensei reanimates you from the TIME OF YOUR DEATH, NOT YOUR 'PEAK'. Madara was revived from the moments after he disconnected from the Gedo Statue, Minato from the moment he died with Kushina, Nagato from the moment after he cast Rebirth, Itachi from the moment he fell beside Sasuke etc. So all characteristics from time of death carry over other than the physical condition of their Chakra Network in their body(since thats physical AND spiritual, that goes with them to the Pure Lands). Nagato is a special case b/c he was supposedly crippled from the damage the Gedo Statue did to his Chakra network, not the mine Hanzo laid beneath Konan. He wouldve just Uzumaki'd the damage to his legs anyway, we know that wouldnt have been enough to permanently cripple his legs. Afterall he literally tanked it & stood straight up after, lifting Konan & went onto call the Gedo Statue which absolutely used his entire body & Chakra network to do. Im also VERY SKEPTICAL that the vessel used to call a Re-Animation to earth doesnt impact the quality of said Re-Animation. Its explicitly stated Edo Tensei can be improved upon both in technique & in resources & we also have explicitly stated evidence a Re-Animation can employ special materials to raise its quality. So its safe to assume its caveats works similarly to Orochimaru's body-snatch Jutsu, just w/o the caveats unique to Orochimaru considering Edo-Tensei is replacing ones soul & chakra with that of the Re-Animated individuals. 3) The Yata-Mirror is a chakra construct drawn out from Itachi's spirit. It is both a tangible & intangible object dependant upon Itachi's employment of it. Again, Chakra is very much a physical thing that inhabits ones body so therefore, things made of Chakra will retain Chakra's qualities. The Yata-Mirror ISNT omni-directional, but as you yourself demonstrated, that does not mean its qualities cant be altered while its out & in-use. Thats a good question. Being that when itachi was resurrected by reanimation. He lost his eyes to sasuke after the battle. Being that sasuke needed to have new eyes after there battle. Yet, when itachi was reanimated he had sharingan eyes. Its not like he was gonna be reanimated with no eyes from his real bodies eyes being plucked out. With that being said, the reanimated body is reanimated exactly the way they died. With Itachi having his eyes back. As well as being able to use his sharingan powers. Does that mean that Danzo if he was reanimated would still have his sharingans in his body. Being that they were infused in his body with hashirama cells. Meaning he would be able to have infinite chakra and be able to have infinite regen. While being able to use all of his eyes still. As well as use izagani infinitely if wanted to or use infitate sharingan powers from his eyes. He would be ultra powerful as a reanimation. Even if he was not able to use his other sharingan he had shisuis eyes implanted into his body itself. So, he would have been able to use shisuis genjutsu powers infinitely. As well as use shisuis sharingan infinitely. Being that he died that way. When reanimated he would be the same way that he died.

I don't Think Sasuke was blind yet. His eyes were strained in that moment which likely made him blinder than he actually was. And likely would have partially recovered. But he was probably getting close To Itachi's level of Blindness via that perspective shot from Itachi. But all 5 at once? Itachi stands no chance no chance. Now for this Example Itachi will be bloodlusted. In a 5 Kage Summit Scenario with the exact same Set of events for Itachi as Sasuke. (Taka and all.) (A low level Genjutsu to hold him in place and Amaturasu will do the trick.) He's probably Capable of utilizing their assistance to a greater degree than Sasuke is as well. Gaara is likely Taken out with a Tsukuyomi and his bodyguards Fall to A Mixture of Amaturasu and Taijutsu with assistance from Taka. Itachi receives Chakra from Karin. He kills Mifune with a point blank Amaturasu during a blade lock. And Taka keeps the The Tsuchikage and The bodyguards occupied. (In Reality Taka gets wiped.) But he's smart enough to Utilize Taka. So He clears the Summit and leaves Before Naruto and Kakashi arrive. Goes blind and Dies very soon afterwards from overexertion and sickness. Without Taka and Chakra regeneration for Help. He Likely doesn't get past Onoki.

The manga is more canon than the anime, and the manga only shows 2 panels of Naruto fighting Itachi. There is no proof that Itachi kept up with Naruto. 3. Naruto only wanted to talk. He didn't want to defeat Itachi, not at that particular time, anyway. So, he clearly held back. 4. Travel speed =/= reaction speed =/= combat spee. I’m known to be a great debater in just life in general and make people look stupid. So here we go. Their arguments for those characters revolves around their “main jutsu”. They literally just do Rock Paper Scissors and call it a battle. When it’s NEVER like that in naruto at all!
