swapping the hands to get a bigger hip out on the omaplata is a great detail.

Thx for vid. I lose my diamond often though against opponents who frame their forearm across my hip, so their arm position is in between the first and second pair of submissions. So they fight to keep their arm from crossing centerline and they fight to keep their hand outside of my pocket. Any tips for how to funnel their arm out of that safe in between space and into one of the submission danger zones?

Hey, great question! From that scenario you best best would probably be to snake you outside arm under their arm (into the crook of their elbow) and push their wrist into your thigh. From there you can attempt the bicep slicer or baratoplata. Alternatively, you could grap their elbow and wrist (2 point arm drag style) and at the same time shift your hips. That should unblock their frame. Hopefully this helps!
