Amazing how this song brings out the nostalgic comments. In ’97 I was 32 and in the beginning years of what turned out to be a very fulfilling and rewarding career. Life was good and getting better. This upbeat song added happiness to the soundtrack of my life. Now almost 60, retired and still enjoying all I can. Time goes by so quickly…to young people out there seize the day and cherish all you have. Strive to be happy.

@@SlytherinStoner I am sorry to hear this, and I hope you are getting compassionate help. One thing I do know is that things in our lives change, and they can change very quickly. @@CaffeineBlast que bueno que hayas vivido los '80 y '90, épocas que eran esperanzadoras, con muchas expectativas en el futuro. I heard this song while I was taking care of my 97 yo great grandmother in the hospital, it became part of the whole situation, when she died all I could hear in my mind was "there she goes" as she left this world in peace, and even after 22 years it still makes me cry. I belong to Generation X. We had so much hope back then. We as a generation thought we could change the world. Nothing was serious. The music was good. The bands were awesome. Where I lived there was always a great new band to see at the local club. Watched Friends every Thursday before going out. Lived with my high school sweetheart in a crappy apartment. We got married in the mid nineties, and a year later started our family. My wife and I both graduated from college and got our dream jobs. If you asked my in 1997 when I was 25 years old that I would be pushing 50 someday, I would have told you that you were high. 30 seemed light years away. Now 25 might as well be ancient history.

I can relate! I miss the 90s too, everything you said and absolutely the music was great, especially considering the music of today. I can't stand the sound of auto tuned voices and it seems like that is all I hear when involuntary listening to it. Maybe they had that in the 90's, I don't know, but I didn't notice it. Maybe it's the latest trend -- to sound like a robot.

LOL--video cameras became ubiquitous in the '90s but there was a musical renaissance for sure in the first half of that decade (before it got shit again for good) and it was more mellow. The USA was definitely hijacked during the 2000 election, with 9/11 happening a year later. The Deep State coup on Election Day/January 6th is in is death spiral thankfully.

Even though I was born in 2004, I feel trapped in the nostalgia of 2013-2015, along with the memories of my older sister. Now, she has her own family, and I'm left alone to face the hardships of life. But I know I have to keep fighting to make her proud. Now my sister has a successful husband, and I feel a little ashamed because I haven’t been able to give her the best yet. While I was reflecting on my unclear future, suddenly, this song played again after so many years. I cried my heart out, remembering that I still have an older sister I need to protect. I wouldn’t even know this beautiful song if my sister hadn’t played it in the car. Ah, such nostalgia. It makes me feel like I have to keep fighting, find a wife, and make my sister proud.
