1:35 It's so weird that this video pops up as I just start talking to a guy who tells me that he offers his partners to have a side man because he can't keep up with doing it more than once a day. So if he has any partner who wants it more than once a day he will allow them to have pretty much a boyfriend. And I'm like that is a weird thing because I will want it want more than once a day. But I don't want an extra person. I am monogamous and then this video pops up about a show that's literally meant allowing their girls to do that and it's just what a weird coincidence

Guys Definitely not actually into this. He's obviously bothered by it. Sadly it's extremely common for people to deal with things they shouldn't in order to not be single... he doesn't want to be single so he would likely put up with nearly anything the b did and convince himself he's OK with it so he doesn't feel like he has to leave her. Often only thing that breaks somone out of that is getting very close to another person and knowing that other person is wanting to be with them as well. It's hard. But alot alot of people have this type of co dependence... where it's not so much about needing that particular person but have a strange fear of being single. Afraid that they might actually not find someone new or a million other reasons but yeah it's sad as fudge. Some people are ok with poly lifestyle... or someone have a kink for watching thier partner hook up with others or whatever else and that's completely fine if both truly want it but it's clear he is just putting up with it. She's got his ballz in her purse... doesn't really want to play with them but refuses to hand them back. She doesn't want him either she enjoys having the control. Maybe it's her kink... or she's just a selfish biiiaahch. I mean listen to how she constantly interrupts him if interviewing together. How she walks a step ahead of him and when sitting together her shoulders and body has to be closest to the camera or whatever else is the point of interest. She got all the power and poor gut is just being broken down more and more by her while she gains more power over him.

This is sad af. She’s not poly, she’s just unsatisfied with her husband and wants something that isn’t him, but she likes the stability he offers. That’s why she cheated. If she was single and found the perfect guy for her that checks all her boxes and rocks her world, you think she’d be in an open relationship? Hell no. She’d lock that dude down and be jealous as hell if he even looked at another woman. I feel bad for her husband, but he’s doing it to himself because he’s too afraid to be alone or look for someone else. My gf of over 3 years still makes me feel like I’m the only guy in the world. She’s still down bad for me after all this time and always makes me feel good about myself. I wish more people knew what that felt like because then they wouldn’t put up with the bs this guy is putting up with.

Even though he didn't comfort me 99% of the time On even a friendly level she once decided to cry and argue for multiple days cause he gave me a hug, because I felt sad over something bad happening in my family. @@petite-beefcakesi know multiple poly people and thats not how it works for them. They have set partners, a main one and quite a few of them know eachother and spend time together. Im sorry that youve had a horrible experience, but dont use your anecdotal experience and do the 99% thing. Abuse happens in a lot of monogamous relationships, yet we dont go around saying 99% of monogamous relationships are abusive. Hell ive been in multiple monogamous relationships where I was made to feel like a sex toy, sexually assaulted and not respected. I wouldnt now say, just because my experiences have been mostly negative, that 99% of monogamous relationships are just like that. You have every right to feel that youd never be in one again, to share your experience and you were obviously severly mistreated. But non monogamy already has a stigma due to peoples ignorance, no need to paint poly as always horrible. Thats not true. And this type of behavior can and does also happen in non poly relationships. You had a shit hand and dealt with horrible people

Nah, this is literally the "fake polyamory" meme where someone cheats on their partner and is suddenly polyamorous when their partner clearly isn't. It's heartbreaking. Poor Mike definitely deserves better, but he also needs to grow a backbone and stand up for himself. There is genuinely no way being in an awful, manipulative relationship like this is better than just being single, especially when he's got such supportive friends who seem to genuinely care about him. And the scene at the end, where Mike says he might wants kids and then "takes it back" when she goes off on him is just super uncomfortable. They have a borderline emotionally abusive relationship, and they're just airing it on TV for the world to see. Hope Mike steps away from the whole thing and starts taking care of himself eventually.

Sometimes it takes an ally to help you pull yourself out from under the weight of emotional manipulation. That's what's happening, here and in your "friends" case. It's emotional manipulation, wrapped in emotional blackmail and hatted with the perfect dose of gaslighting. The many tactics used by manipulative people may very well have their victim feeling fear about 'being alone' but that's not the true fear that's formed and is rarely the underlying, root cause of that feeling. The affects of the mental abuse are just shining through. They've been broken down so thoroughly and consistently enough that they now believe that they'd be nothing without their abuser. In some cases they may have had orders being barked at them for so long that they don't even remember what It's like or even how to make their own decisions and choose for themselves. Being worn down like that takes time and persistence, maybe less if the victim is already insecure/ weak minded or are predisposed to be enablers of narssacistic and abusive behaviors. Falling in love with a manipulative person is so dangerous and hard to escape because they'll use that love against you like a weapon while at the same time using their absence of love qndand care for you to disregard your needs, wants and wellbeing. They wont slip up due to feelings of guilt or remorse, because they have none. you're their means to their desired end and nine times out of ten, they never loved you, they only loved the things they Hope to gain from using you. When you boil it down to the bare bones of "cause and affect" then i suppose you could write it off as them doing it to themselves. But imo, these people need help, love and support from their friends and family in this instance, maybe above any other. They may need someone to literally slap some sense into them, or come physically rescue them from their personal pit of hell. Leaving a manipulator is hard for so many reasons even only emotionally/mentally/psychology speaking. But beyond that, even if the victim has come to terms and realized the abuse for what it is, Leaving a manipulative person can be very dangerous. They often get violent, threaten physical harm or may destroy your possessions so they have the satisfaction of you actually leaving with nothing. When they cant control you, they'll control how others think of you. Starting a 'schmear campaign' to collapse other pillars in your social/professional life. Their own abuse may even lend credit to their lies as Reactive Abuse is a very real phenomenon, your fight or flight instincts will kick in when you've finally hit your breaking point and most victims will eventually lash out at their abusers often in ways very uncharacteristic to themselves. The abuser relies on these moments to aid in manipulating how others perceive you and will typically use them to sway the opinions of those who are closer to you and are not as easily convinced of their lies. Ig the tldr is that whoever this friend is, their abuser is absolutely BANKING on you distancing yourself into obscurity. Isolation is key for these people. Humans can't mentally survive in pure isolation, we need interaction and the abuser wants to make their victim soley reliant on them to receive this stimulation. Plus the added benefit that without an outsider perspective, there's no one to point out the abuse and manipulation and encourage you to leave.

Polyamory is founded upon honesty and trust, THIS IS NOT IT. It should not be used as an excuse to be manipulative or gaslighting someone you deem as a partner or person of interest. She's legitimately running him in the ground with red flags everywhere. I understand there's a lot of awful poly relationships experienced or in media but a few should not be judged by the whole. Everything comes with ups and downs but this lady right here brought whole building down.

as someone who is poly... i am two minutes in, and very annoyed. there are plenty of people in the world who are ok with this lifestyle. there is no reason to pressure people who are not ok with it. and no one has to be ok with it - if you're not wired that way, that is perfectly ok. i happen to have always been wired this way. it hasn't been easy. as a woman, when you express this, particularly when you are young and you have no idea there is a whole community of like minded individuals, guys can be friggn gross. i have always been respectful of my partners need to be monogomous and have either locked it down or moved on if i didnt think he was worth forgoing other partners. polyamory is about honesty and trust. the community is rife with people who use the poly flag to just cheat or be cheaters or who shame their partners for not just being ok with gross behaviour. she sucks edit: and omg that selfish to not want her to find love shit... this is exactly the sort of bs you find on the really toxic forums. no one is allowed to be insecure. no one is allowed to be jealous. if your partner is treating you like shit, YOU are the problem because YOU'RE controlling... its bullshit. it is perfectly normal to feel insecure or jealous at times and it is healthy to call your partner out if they're fucking around on you and crossing your boundaries - being poly is based on honesty and being able to establish and negotiate boundaries. that part where she is like "would you feel bad if you saw me with someone else... ": she wants him to feel bad, she gets off on him feeling cucked. this isnt poly rep edit2: this was his idea? bs. popping babies out? you're not the feminist icon you think you are gurl. his needs are allowed to change. his bros really are bros and i hope they stick around for the fallout. the hardest part i have found with polyamory early in life, was when you tell a guy you're like this, they think 1. great - then they get disappointed because i still have more game than them. 2. great - but they're still going to lie about shit because no one can sleep with other people unless you're lying... 3. boo - and even though i refuse to step out on a guy if he is monogamous, they're convinced im a sex mad pervert who is just waiting for the chance to cheat on him, even though i have done nothing but be TOO honest. these days, the world is more open and there are more networks and communities, more people being openly poly. should be my golden age... yeah nah. advice from a salty old poly... 1. if your partner wants to open the relationship and you're surprised or uncomfortable - trust that instinct, they have already picked out their cheating partner and they want permission. 2. if you have finally agreed to being poly and your partner is weird about you dating - this was only ever a vehicle for them to cheat. 3. i think some people are either wired for poly or for mono. both are ok. don't ever let someone pressure you into a lifestyle you're not wired for. this video is a prime example and my heart hurts watching this guy try so desperately to keep someone who is a liar and a cheater. 4. even if you are all in and poly; its ok to feel jealous and insecure. it isnt always about the sex etc. sometimes we go through shit that makes us feel less than perfect and seeing the one we love enjoying their time with someone else can make us feel shitter - thats normal. in a mono relationship its more likely theyll be solely focused on making you feel better but trust me, the only person who can heal your insecurity is you. that doesnt mean that you're a bad person for asking to pause extra curricular activities until you're in the right headspace. your partner should care about how you feel at all times, even if they're boning other people. 5. and if your partner shuts down any sort of talk about renegotiating the boundaries of your relationship because you're uncomfortable, just leave. they're going to cheat on you even if they finally agree to stop seeing other people. 6. being poly is like, the opposite of being a cheater. polyamory is based on honesty and trust, establishing boundaries and open communication. i think a lot of people cheat because they're not wired for monogamy and i think a lot of people lie about it because they're scared. there are worse people in the world than cowards. but i absolutely hate being painted with the same brush as a coward when i live my life with integrity. especially when it has cost me friendships and relationships and when i have been affected my whole life by the stereotypes put forward by this video leo has reacted to. and pps.. you cannot fix a problem in your relationship by pursuing other relationships. your problems expand exponentially. their issue wasn't that they had different sexual needs, their problem was that she didnt respect him and lied to him. additional relationships wont help that. she always gonna be a liar. if you have issues with lying and cheating, involving other people is not just useless, its unethical. these are innocent people. theyre not here to fix your shit. and you're about to treat them the same way you treated your partner. if your partner thinks another relationship will stop them cheating, i have news for you sis... if you're in this boat because of cheating, other partners wont fix that. it just complicates it

The girl doesn't love Mike. Everyone around her just says: "But he's such a good guy!" - and that's why she stays. Some people can work relationships without passionate love. But you have to understand your situation fully and be willing for that sacrifice. She's not. If a new person comes along, they have to know about my partner(s) 2. Rules for me are rules for thee. Whatever rules get agreed upon apply to everyone involved. 3. Everyone knows everything. @@Marz859This is why modern day relationships don't work and while I'll probably never get married. You stop being you when you get married it is now a singular unit. Both sides have to sacrifice for the whole. That means both men and women have to give up parts of themselves for the relationship to work otherwise you may as well just be monogamous fuck buddies. Relationships are hard work and commitment you may not own that individual, but if they respected the relationship reasonable request from both sides is a given. A door mat. EDIT: After some thoughts and watching this torture unfold im convinced of two things here. One she doesn't actually understand the concept of a loving relationship to her. Her own mind can only comprehend that her wants are theirs, that the relationship(s) are specifically for her benefit and pleasure everyone else involved are just there for the purpose of making her feel good about herself, or at least the idea of such feelings. And she was probably the first "serious" relationship he's ever had and by his own admission he's scared to lose that cuase he thinks he'll die scared and alone otherwise.
