Nikki these kids are the next biggest thing in rock n roll. To the people who say that they are a Led Zeppelin rip off. I ask you! Do you like Led Zeppelin? If yes. Then what’s the fuckin problem!?!? Cuz they sound great. Their phenomenal live. Best rock sound out there right now. Real rock sound.
@Module79L
@Module79L 7 жыл бұрын
The problem is that they took the easy way, instead of doing their own thing and be good at it. That's usually a sign of some lack of song-writing skills. Next thing they'll be doing Led Zeppelin covers...
@timothycormier3494
@timothycormier3494 7 жыл бұрын
Module79L they already do Led Zeppelin. Like full sets too. But their original stuff is really good. Big Zeppelin influence. There’s one song that sounds like it’s straight off the first rush album. I hear ya with the originality problem. But listen to the whole album. They’ve definitely got their own sound. Besides they’re still young. Plenty of time to grow
@Module79L
@Module79L 7 жыл бұрын
But see, that't the problem: if I want to listen to Led Zeppelin, I go and listen to them, if I want to listen to Rush, I go and listen to them, not to a band that's pretending to be them. The same could be said about the songs that sound like another existing bands. In my opinion, they're starting the wrong way and either it'll be difficult for them to step away from that "brand" in the future or their fans won't be pleased when they change (if they do). The music world needs new stuff, not recreations of the past.
@timothycormier3494
@timothycormier3494 7 жыл бұрын
Module79L point taken. I get what your saying. But the same can be said about Zeppelin. Cuz they ripped off almost all of their stuff from older American blues. Note for note. Rush was a blatant ripoff of triumph. So much so that you can’t tell the two apart sometimes. Influence is what drives us as musicians. Playing the music we love
@Module79L
@Module79L 7 жыл бұрын
Who didn't, back in the day? It was all they had. Even Ritchie Blackmore addmitted that he stole Black Night's riff from another band! Influence is a different thing. My influences don't make me go about copying them. ; )

I can still tell Jake is a bit not used to the whole notion of being a rockstar. But his true colors are very vulnerable here and he's a humble funny guy. So this is a raw interview to say the least. 4. I think I can sense that Jake is nervous through his playing as well! he's had better days for sure. He's still a genius nonetheless

Yeah. Back in 2012, it was taken from an elderly woman with the surname and her name is Gretna. The band didn't have a name at the time, and they were about to play at a festival one night, and they needed a name, so they spontaneously took hers with her blessing. That's the funny thing about a lot of ideas, sometimes it just comes to you naturally. 😂😂✌☮

It takes the guitarist to say that Led Zeppelin's Jimmy Page was a HUGE influence on his playing. However, the lead singer does not count Zeppelin as being an Influence. I like the guitarist (Jake Kiszka), he rocks for calling out the truth.

I've been saying that about Highway Tune during the chorus riff specifically. There's a lot of Angus in his playing.

Tyler Bryant is amazing. Sad he has never gotten the sustained and much larger recognition he deserves. In retrospect, he probably should have forgone finishing high school and taken the record company offer when his moment had seemingly presented itself. (Parents. Always getting in the way with their "sound" advise)

Just when I thought Rock was dying...if not dead...Greta Van Fleet comes along to give me hope. These youngsters have a hell of a lotta soul and the skill to back it up. Wow. Very impressed. Keep it up boys! You were born about 50 years to late. The music industry won't back you because you're so damn good. It'll kill the horrible music they've been putting out for a generation. America idol and hip hop killed/killing music. But, don't let that stop you. Still plenty of ways to reach an audience that desperately needs you!

that's good, because I don't like them much. Just are not my cup of tea. But how much time does that guitar player need to get better? This band has already been around for 6 years and finally managed to release an album. Yet everyone thinks they're some "new band."
