Cool video what a great explanation thanks would of been great if you mentioned the calculations for over 1000V sheathed and unsheathed conductors in this video as well not just 1000volts or less calculations thanks buddy.

Isn't this for conduit and boxes containing 4awg wire and larger only?

Mike Holt figure 314-50 says spliced conductors do have to have no less than six times the trades size of the largest raceway, plus the sum of the trade sizes of the remaining raceways on the same wall or row,
@Ed-uu9eo4 жыл бұрын
Yes. That's sizing the distance to the opposite wall.

so in the angle pull we still had to size up the box to get 12 inches between raceway?
@anthonypicozzi4414 Жыл бұрын
How much support do you need for a pullbox like that? Do you need four corners or is it by the weight?

What about a straight pull with 2 conduit in an out of either side. How you figure width of the box? An depth? I get the length

What if I'm not pulling 4AWG or larger then non of this is required? Read 314.28A
@AccessToPower3 жыл бұрын
Yes you are correct. This is for wire that is #4 or Larger. Thanks for the comment.

what's the rule if they were spliced?
@AccessToPower4 жыл бұрын
Hey Jered. The rule, if the wires are spliced, is found in 314.28(A)(2) and requires 6 times the largest conduit size in a row, plus the diameter of all the other conduits in that same row on one side of the box. each row is calculated separately and the row with the largest dimension is required for calculating the size of the box.

What is the depth of the box?
@Muddypaws589 Жыл бұрын
It's largest Conduit. Not largest conductor.

6 X The Largest Conductor ? Or 6 X The Largest Pipe ? In think you made a mistake because you did not calculate Conductor sizes . So you misspoke. I’m just point it out because I’m a new studying apprentice and it didn’t make sense , so I had to look into it again . I listened again and realized , I doesn’t make sense because you just misspoke a word .
