@@bas0209 Both Chaka and his brother Dingaan were psychopaths so life under their rule was not that great before the 1820 settlers arrived. Whites won't care about the aims of the ANC if they cannot set a good example and they have not. They have failed miserably. Once they get their act together you can throw stones at 8 % of the population. Remember that ordinary working-class whites are not a threat to the ambitions of black people.I returned to the Bluff in Durban in 2004 and the place was booming and overpopulated. Then when I returned in 2012,, for some reason, the place was just dead. So many businesses were closed and the traffic was dead. You could tell it had emptied out. God knows why. The Bluff was very working class. Tradesmen mostly and railway workers.. Also, I heard by this time there was a serious shortage of qualified teachers.I was also told that Africans were not doing well in the most important technical sector of education. It's too late to blame white people. There are just not enough of them around anymore. The ones that are left are either poor or rich and the rest have been snapped up by Australia and New Zealand for their skills. On the other hand the black population has grown at a rate far beyond that of GDP. Whites cannot be blamed for that either. Pray you are not divided and corrupted. You have a strong constitution that allows you to have solidarity. The reason the miners were shot was not whites telling blacks to kill. ANC members have shares in the companies that own the mines. That's also why the ANC won't let the Gov't nationalize the mines. I wish you all the best. The whites who created apartheid are long dead.

Our people need to be conscientised and made to understand that this situation the black man /child finds themselves in in this country is not normal. i also feel the line the advocate added there when he said " the black child cannot see beyond just employment as he/she sees himself as a worker" hit me the hardest. The Adv's talk essentially reflects on the past 30 years pantomime of South Africa. 1994 was a silver bullet to some, esp those who were prepared to take full advantage. And the Adv is utterly correct to criticize the wider Black suffering, and where the real levers of power sit in our society. His speech is a conceptual clarion call, for deep self-reflection. And he inadvertently pointed to the convenience of class and political abuse that became entrenched. Some did much better than others.

Great podcast Sizwe, and please extend many thanks to Adv. Sikhakhane for his insightful and thought-provoking views. Its a pity a person of his calibre never makes headlines because of the threat he poses to the establishment. This discussion reminds me of the phrase "Choice is an illusion, created between those with power, and those without." uttered by the Merovingian in The Matrix trilogy. We Black South Africans, we are caught up The Matrix and have been since the Genesis of this so-called "miracle country with the best constitution in the world". Which oddly enough, no country is lining up to learn and adopt its best practices. Thank you.

No one can teach you how to think. The way you think is formed by your background. Your mind is formed by gathering information from first parents, then the bigger circle of the community. No teacher can teach you how to think. I guess you mean critical thinking - that's a skill that's developed. If you don't read as a child, don't play with toys that develop your brain, then how is a teacher going to make you think? If you don't value logic and facts over emotions, then there's no critical thinking.

Confession, I am so ashamed that I just did not like this gentleman because of how the media reports had portrayed him. Watching this and listening to the points made, I can't help but feel a deep sense of sadness and conviction at how we get so easily swayed by the perception created by the media due to their dominance. The same applies to a certain President, liking him (for no reason) was forced down our throats by the media and now its seems like has not surpassed his predecessor as we were made to believe.
