With such a simple setup, you don't need a controller. You can have up to 8 channels before needing a controller. Usually that doesn't come until you're automating crafting. If you connect your functional storage controller, sophisticated storage controller, and crafting terminal, that's only 3 channels. I can't recall if power counts as a channel, but even if it does, that's still 4 more things you can connect before you need an ME controller. I don't know if it's in the pack, but there is an add-on that can connect your kitchen to your computer as well, and that all still leaves space for a wireless grid setup. Also, having dated a farmer and having a sister that works with farmers, I can safely say they use computers and technology in general. I don't think they usually build their computers from scratch, but I don't think having a computer goes against the farming theme. Not unless you start going overboard with it, like using it to automate a sad little farm while you do other things

I had a farmer girlfriend who did build herself a computer, and she also sought a crashed meteor for components. So I think it’s 100% life accurate.

Appreciate the shoutout. Another great video as always. Just a heads up, when you put the storage bus on your drawers, right click it and set the priority higher, that way the computer will try to put things in the drawers first and keep your chests cleaner.

I prefer using the cardboard boxes to move the quartz. I've had bad experience with the cut paste gadget in the past although admittedly that was possibly a bug that has now been fixed. For a 'normal' pack run I'd recommend using modular routers to automate harvesting crystals (both grown and dust) and growth accelerators to grow them quickly... and on a related note the growth accelerator will also accelerate crop growth which a lot of people don't realise. Also this version the inscribers are smart and will only accept correct items. Its easy to automate with pipez and one chest for input and output for resources. Pipe out of the chest and into all of the inscribers and pipe out of all the inscribers back to the chest.

oh and you might want to consider making some façades to hide the cables and tidy things up and i'd suggest putting the controller in the basement and just running the me cable up top as it can be concealed easer than the Mekanisim power conduits

You need a storage bus, not an interface, interface is a glorified importer/requester or used to make sub-nets, but it seems like you figured it out :)

_(Personal Question: Have you heard of Jeremy Clarkston's Farming series?)_ Did you know Sjin, that modern day Farms might have upwards of $5 mil in Farm equipment & Land value... yet only get by on $100k annually. And the most expensive thing after Land Value, is probably Technology based. Both mobile equipment, and infrastructure. It's what we get for switching from Human beings doing things, to one family with machines.

Be sure to look at cable facades, they are panels that attach to cables that you can style as other blocks.

you can make a comparable storage system with ars nouveau if you want to avoid tech. Add some magic to your farm instead. It even has squirrels that will move items around for you.

didnt know that the copy paste tool could do that, thats good to know. ive always found ae2 cumbersome to start and i prefer using rftools or mekanism for my computers. but this definitely helps understand ae2.

The version of AE2 I'm using is way less finicky than this version--no need for the CopyPaste gadget, the meteor compass recipe works. It's appliedenergistics2-neoforge-17.13.0-beta. Not sure which one ATM 10 is using.

Another problem though... ur PC only works during the days... because of solar panel... u can make some wind generators... They can be agricultural... Can u also make like a working tractor or something, every farm should most definitely have some, right... Tractor/Harvestor...etc.

Just put my own ugly CFB kitchen... Fyi, the oven heater upgrade DOES NOT WORK. It will not accept any energy from any pipe. It also doesn't work with hoppers (for coal). Apparently storage drawers work with CFB, I use ae2 and that does not.
