I've used a Rain Skirt for about 5 years and would NEVER go back to rain pants. It's rarely mentioned, but if you buy a rain jacket you also need to buy rain pants, at an additional cost of copurse. If you like wet legs then thats OK, but I really like to be dry from the top of my head to my toes. My rain skirt is home made, and I made some personal desicons about it. The bottom hem is 20cm from the ground, there is an additional cost of buying a pair of gaiters and in my case, where the material crosses over, I use two sew-on magnets to stop any flapping when its windy. Last but not least, I wear non-waterproof trail shoes when hiking and if it starts to rain I put on my waterproof socks. The combination of waterproof jacket, waterproof rain skirt, waterproof gaiters and waterproof socks works very well for me, and I'm always dry. Unless of course, the weather is mad, bad and wet for hours and hours, then perhaps I do get a bit damp.

The lower legs getting wet is a serious problem, the water sooner or later gets into the shoes. A rain skirt imho still is the best choice, if combined with rain gaiters in heavy downpour.

Den där kan jag verkligen rekommendera, gärna i kombo med ett paraply längs låglandslederna iaf. 👍👍 Jag har en med samma konstruktion fast från en annan tillverkare. 🙄😬
