FIRST Tournament GT of the NEW Warhammer 40k Edition. Drukhari and my 27 Dark Lances. I play 6 rounds of competitive tabletop games at the TGX event near Toronto Ontario. I battle various factions Space Marines (Adeptus Astartes), Tyranids, Custodes and the Aeldari. How will my Pew Pew army list play with the tactics?! Congrats on your placing! Good video too. After watching some bat reps and looking at lists, I think I might end up shelving my Drukhari until 10th edition gets some updates. I started playing late in 9th and this feels like a completely different army than the one I started with. Until my favorite units are worth taking again (Wych Cults and Drazhar/Incubi), I might just focus on my Necrons.

I would keep the Talos. The Grots are not shooty, fighty or tough enough. You will have a very bad game in to t12+ with just Dark Lances where the haywire can come in clutch. If you really needed something.. more cronos would be better. Their flamer + blast gun, st5 ap-1 ignore cover are so good for their points.

Very cool list, thank you for sharing. Have you already thought about venom based lists instead of the Raider, thereby splitting 10 man squads and making use of the aerialists ability and giving fire and fade to troops? Your experience on that would be interesting.

Absolutely great video, particularly the end talking about how you would change the list. It looks like that style of DE goes very light on melee. Have you considered a beastpack or a court to add to the archon so he does more than just hide at the back. An Archon, Court, half warrior unit can do some damage coming out of a raider. Interesting you didn't like the transports. I like the venoms allowing us to play MSU, and deepstriking the warriors into place sounds more effective than going in reserve for when we face desolation marines. I suppose the transport costs start adding up fast when a raider is only 5 points less than a ravager.

I really disliked the archon in the current edition and I am not a fan of the cabalites I went the same way as you went for 2 cronus 3 scurges 3 ravegers but rent with 6 units of wracks 5 msu 1 10 men Urian and a Homenculus and they work. They are pretty good with the snypers and you get a lot of objective control like this. Also I love Lilith in a venum and a succuby with anothe venom with the rest of the 5 wyches issue is there are lists in which there is nothing to hit with them. So my 5 cents

honestly, i'd swap the talos for 2 6 man bikes, especially for the synergy with speed and heat lances. Been toying around with putting the razorwing back into rotation, with the points drop and the +1 to hit anything not flying makes it a pretty lethal platform.

Quite unfortunate wyches are just so gutted this edition as it feels their use case now is so niche without a HQ leading them its basically not worth it, and sort of a similar thing with the incubi. Makes me sad that we have lost the options those units gave and now GW forces us to shoehorn our lists back into the dark lance spam again - tbh feels like they ripped the soul out of the faction a little as for me late 9th felt the most true to how Drukhari should feel out of the 4 iterations of DE I've played. The spitballing ive done for my 10th list came pretty similar to yours, taking out the incubi/wyches and leaning a little more into the coven and ranged drukhari mobile infantry, though to be honest i was running a somewhat similar and relatively shooty real space raid list previously. My old core being trueborn and corsair voidreavers shooting out of raiders, a large unit of wracks to sit on objectives and a couple of wyches with some of pain engines to throw into people so at least its not a huge change and the philosophy should remain relatively the same, though a lack of good melee without the wyches is gonna hurt now and will take a while to adjust to. Am toying around with the idea of keeping my unit of corsair voidscarred inplace of one of the kabalites for their nice new sniping ability, i used to use them for backfield screening and CP regen in 9th which was pretty darn useful - though now im unsure if they can take any transports at all anymore as they dont have the drukhari keyword now which would be pretty rough for them to be slogging it on foot to try and shoot whatever unit they are assigned to kill. Might have to try a couple of matches and see how it plays out, though certainly would be a shame to let the corsairs go - i so much enjoyed using them in 9th as they were not only unique but reasonably effective as well. Do you think the scourge and ravagers are an absolute must have at 3 units each or do you think there might be some wiggle room to run maybe 2 each and still slot in some more melee while remaining legitimately competitive? Just not being able to tie a decent number of units up in melee is going to feel so off as drukhari, and playing without that that utility sounds scary. Also interested to see how swapping out the talos for the grotesques goes for you, i always found the talos so useful as a good threat unit, people just loved to shoot at it so it was useful to use as bait while i did more important things with my army - wondering if the grots might still be able to fill that role for a bit cheaper or if the fear factor is just not there, will stay tuned to find out how you go.

skari, id love to here your feedback on the new wracks. im thinking of taking 2 10 man squads and running them around in raiders as a mostly shooting platform. their new weapon loadout possibilites look really good on paper. i was looking at them last edition trying to see if you could get them to deliver cost wise, but with the new edition im thinking theyre quite scary (and that feel no pain from the haem will work on the damage they take if it blows up with them in it.) the 6 weapons have 3 threat ranges, but it makes those hex rifles even harder to eliminate if they are doing work. being able to delete a marine character with 4 of them every turn might work hero hammer wise, would love to see you try it out and report

I am very glad i found your channel. I am coming back into 40k having missed most of 8th and all of 9th edition. I switched from Tau to Drukhari because at my FLGS there are two other tau players and they are both new so i let them have it and no one was playing Druhkari. I now have a much greater idea of what to get and how to play them. You saved me from over investing in witches and really turned me around on the Chronos. Thanks!

You've mentioned splitting your group up to go in the venom and with the archon. How does this work exactly?

The venom has a special rule . Split a unit of kabs or wyches , 5 have to go into the venom the other 5 make another unit.

I definitely agree with adding the Death Jester and the Grotesques just to have something somewhat durable to push into the center of the table. I'm still wondering if it would be worth it to ditch 1 raider and 1 unit of wracks for a 2nd venom and a 2nd unit of 3 reavers. With the addition of a death jester, do you really think you need another unit of wracks that can help with home objectives? And would you miss out on the pain token you gain when/if the 2nd unit of wracks dies? The 2nd venom does give you the ability cram all the special kabalite weapons into the raider but I wonder if that's too many eggs in a paper boat basket.

It’s not terrible , I found myself not using too many turn 1 so by the time turn 2 rolls around you have a few extra especially if you send the wracks to die .

Hey skari did you ever feel the need of Drazar + 5 incubi in 1 venom to hunt targets you can't deal with shooting? Like biovores, desolators, necron rianimators, D-cannons, lone operatives that usually hide very deep? I think 1 rapid ingress with Draz package can help.

I think it’s can be quite good but you have to really practice it and can’t make targeting or positional mistakes

Congrats on the dubs! we all knew it was you when we saw the lone drukari tourney result for metamonday lol. My list is pretty similar with the only difference being I forego all the transports and only have a lone kabal squad for battleline and used the points to lean into monster mash with 6 talos/3 cronos then 2 death jesters and 2x3 reavers. A lot of fun! I think your list is definitely better for mission play though haha.

What about more reavers? I’ve found them so useful given how fast they are. Melta lances having assault is great, they can reall threaten stuff people wouldn’t expect. Also they can use the run and charge strat to tie stuff up early.

How’d you find the amount of pain tokens you had? Was it enough to keep you going? I’ve been including the haemonculus with the art of pain in that slot rather than the archon, but that’s a lot of points for 1 pain token! Also I like having the archon jumping in and out of his venom with the heavy kabalites to reroll those wounds which means he’s not on the table for the art of pain generation. Long way of asking: did you ever run out of pain tokens? 😂

I found the number of pain tokens was fine thanks to the cronos. I did run out of tokens at times , but put my wracks in place to die, give me one , and then hope the cronos shared the pain !

if you want a lone oprative - the Solitaire did a lot of work for me. He is so fun, holding back until the point where he glass-cannons into the enemy sniping an important character or decimating light to medium infantry. Although the Death Jester works pretty well with generating Pain Tokens due to his ability forcing Battle Shock.

Grotesques as filler for the talos does seem like a more efficient use of those points, but do you need something in that tough/durability range if you're thinking about dropping the transports? You could run more reavers and with swapping around your transports, another cronos?

Awesome! How do you feel about the court? seemed to be divisive when their rules came out. I really like em, but after realizing how much damage in 10th right now is leaning into anti or devastating wounds... the -1 to wound might not be worth it

I haven't been able to trigger a single failed battle shock test for my opponent with my Death Jester across 5 games so far. I might honestly go for the Solitaire instead to be more killy and maybe 5 more wracks for the points?

I'm curious, is that because the Death Jester had a hard time killing a model or because people were always passing battleshock? When he said he had 180pts, I was going to suggest doubling down on the battle shock shenanigans with both a death jester and a voidweaver (170pts together).

@@nicholastorgerson125 In my experience it is a mix of both. If you are running DJ in Drukhari you can't guarantee auto-6 to hit and trigger Sustained 3, so you might only have 3 attacks. After hits, wounds, and saves, I rarely kill more than 1 marine, sometimes zero. After that, LD6+ or 5+ for Black Templars meant that no pain tokens were generated. It doesn't feel like a useful tool except for having a little deep strike deny piece running around the board (mostly) impervious to enemy shooting. Granted 4/5 games were some flavour of marine. One game was vs GSC. Might be easier to get kills on worse saves.

More raider + kabalites as possible... Don't fall for the utility stuff (Cronos and Archon) they are overrated, go instead for more dark lances and lelith to counter attack who come to close)
