The skateboarding scene kills me. I'm a motorsports guy and I've seen so many of my favorite drivers/riders retire or move on, yet here in 2023, Tony Hawk and Steve Caballero are still shredding half pipes like nobody's business. It's incredible. I have so much respect for the sheer passion and dedication skaters have to their craft. May we all be doing what we love well into our 50s and 60s.

Every hobby and sport has some sort of character that’s nearly synonymous with it, but skating in particular got blessed with Tony. He not only blew it up, but he’s continued to inspire and support up the up and coming the entire way. He’s has cast nothing but a positive light on it. There’s plenty of talent out there that could have championed the sport, but Tony ensured it was a positive inviting culture. I was a bmx kid which was almost entirely molded off of skate culture. It’s the only activity Ive been in that even approached the universal support amongst those in it. There’s none of that in team sports. The hate between motorcyclists is crazy. Half the pilots I’ve met are insufferable. Skaters really are a special breed in that regard. Oh and your edit skills are unreal.

That "little kid" is Reese Nelson, who took second place in Women's Vert at the 2023 X-Games at 10 years old. She's the youngest person to ever get an X-Games medal. She's going places for sure.

Tony finally caught up to me in injury. Tony and I are exactly the same age. I shattered the top of my right Femur when I was 10 years old while BMX bike racing. After some reconstructive bone surgery, 20 months after the accident I was racing again and took up extreme snow skiing as well at the age of 12. My mom and Doc's weren't happy but I was having a blast and I still do. Well I downhill Mtn Bike and Ski... but still. Just because we're 55 doesn't mean we can't still shred.

Tony and the Bones Brigade came to our local skatepark in '89 or so, to give a show. Us locals were allowed on the vert platform and could talk to Tony, Mike or Steve. They were so accessible. It was amazing. They were very supportive for us as well since we skated a REALLY crappy vert with lots of passion so they kinda respected us for that. They were in their prime and you wouldn't believe what they did on that crappy 12ft vert. Awsome video man, you got some very serious skills there !!!

I was part of the earlier generation of skaters .I met the Skatetown Boys back in the 70s ,Tony Alva , Stacy Peralta . I never became anything but had a great time . I am almost 60 now and its been 15 years since I have been on a board due to multiple injuries . Tony Alva is still skating . Keep doing what you do ,cool video .
