I love the way you explain things. A lot of other videos are just the person showing you how to do it but you say what muscles to use, when and how to shift your wait and what part of the skate you’ll use. So many other just show you the move and show you in slow motion but they don’t actually tell you how to move your feet.

Thank you xx. Skating has a nasty habit of looking easy, but as you say, there’s so much more going on with weight etc that you can’t see. Thank you for your lovely comment x

I absolutely love that your videos are concise and straight to the point..unlike most of the skating tutorials on youtube whicu go on for 15-20 minutes. Question: Does your mercandise ship outside the UK?

5 minutes into the exercise I thought: "Hm, that's not too difficult." That was when I realized, I was doing it wrong. Bringing the free leg with the heel up right to the front makes it so much harder. I was setting the heel down right behind me. I got that now. but the turn still ties knots in my knees. 😅Thanks forr the great tutorials!

I like your beginner friendly style. Many breakdowns focus on advanced moves, but you start with foundational movements. Curious if feel a rolling triplet rhythm with this move?
@Skatie2 жыл бұрын
Thank you. I always like to do these types of rhythm moves to very laid back songs with a good groove to them but developing a personal style is what skating is all about. Go with your vibe xx

I love your roller skating boots. What boots do you suggest for someone who wants to get back into roller skating?
@Skatie2 жыл бұрын
Thank you. I’d suggest looking at the rookie artistic they are very good. Metal trucks, adjustable toe stop and also the Chaya Melrose elite.
@elizabethalyn10 ай бұрын
Can you turn using the first method (without doing the toe-toe manual) if you have really soft wheels? I only have outdoor wheels and I find they drag quite a lot unless I'm on my toes!
@Skatie6 ай бұрын
When using softer wheels you’ll need to lift the wheels more to get a turn so the toe manual will help with the turn.
@sk8withfam8092 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the video. I’m transferring the weight on both legs and can dribble but I keep moving forwards with the motion. How can I stop this happening?

What kind of skates are you wearing? Model? I am obsessed and about to upgrade. Btwn Reidell 135, 220 or Moonlight Rollers.
@Skatie2 жыл бұрын
These are Risport Cristallo boots on a Star plate and Boiani Star wheels. All very old kit from the 90’s! Reidell skates are a very well made skate and I hear praise for them all the time in the community.
@HEARTSF3RMEH2 жыл бұрын
Is it fine if you lift your leg up and my roller skates are quite loose when I lift it and it goes down?
@Skatie2 жыл бұрын
I always recommend lacing the skates tight in the mid section to stop the foot from lifting out of the boot. This stops blisters and gives better control of the skate.
@adrianjohn4662 жыл бұрын
So if you have the bolt tie stop can you take it off to practice it🤔🤷🏻♂️
@Skatie2 жыл бұрын
Absolutely. If you’re wearing the skates to a rink make sure to pop a jam plug in to protect the rink floor
@dave_dave8 ай бұрын
I don't know how you can skate in long sleeves.. I always, always roll them up, pretty much until I can't roll them anymore. It is much more comfortable. I also drink lots of water and I carry a dish towel with me, I use it to cool my head and arms off. I simply run it under cold water and wipe my arms, then my head. It works great!
@Skatie8 ай бұрын
When I go to a skate session I usually wear a shirt as it’s cooler but when I’m filming the videos there’s a lot of standing around talking, especially with all my outtakes! 😂

hi, is the dribble easier to learn on slightly lager wheels? 61mm, 88A? greets, Ella
@Skatie Жыл бұрын
The wheels won’t make a huge difference when learning this one as it’s very much static and there’s no spinning involved. Make sure to push down with your toes as the foot comes forward this will help Anchor you and give you stability and a little roll in your wheels. Make sure to use the staggered stance for stability. Keep shoulders and hips square initially to help with balance. Really feel that push and pull.
