I fell three times in front of a bunch of folks while practicing my stops yesterday but I’m better at it now. I am glad I watched the video on moving from the ground to a standing position because that could have been even more embarrassing. Thank you for the tutorials. It really helps.

Thank you, Skatie. This clarifies a lot of confusion I previously had about rapid stopping. Appreciate this immensely as I often encounter unexpected circumstances skating outdoors.

Outside is definitely lively! 😂 🤕 be careful out there xx

Awesome. Gonna practice the drag and turn, that looks do-able… and kinda fun.

Good to know! I'm still working on trying to get the courage to skate on rough concrete. But I may need to use this advice once I get there! So thanks!

Outside is definitely much more unforgiving. Watch out for those slopes that come out of nowhere! 🤩😎⭐️🛼

I need to learn this. I went to my first roller rink yesterday and someone cut across me leaving me nowhere to go. I fell in a split and ouchie !
@Skatie Жыл бұрын
Oh no! 🤕 side stepping is a good skill for the rink too. I’ve stepped over many an obstacle! 😂😎🤩⭐️

OH! I hadn't been staggering my feet, and yes, felt insecure stopping on both toes stops.

It makes a huge difference doesn’t it. Often it’s just a little thing like that which makes it feel so much more stable. 🤩💕⭐️😎

The plow stop is a good one to start with as it’s very similar to a bubble and you can keep both feet on the ground too!

I haven’t roller skated in years and I tried stopping skating forward and fell on my back and hit my head. I had no idea you were supposed to turn around.
@Skatie4 ай бұрын
Ouch. You can stop forwards too. I have lots of stopping videos which will help. Make sure to wear a helmet ⛑️

Wow, is it possible to break using kind of hockey stop with quads?😅
@Skatie Жыл бұрын
Definitely! I show that in one of my stopping videos. Makes a nice noise too.

Hi. These are vintage wheels, I’m not sure how easy it is to pick some up now. They’re Boiani Star wheels.

I can stop pretty good skating inside a rink, but outside I am having difficulty stopping. The different surfaces otuside are throwing me off.
