For all the confused non-scandinavian. Norwegian, Swedish and Danish is basically the same language. There's not much that differs at all! The three languages are basically different accents of one language you could say. To put it into perspective: Norwegian and Swedish being an American accent and Danish being a very strong scottish accent which is harder to understand for Americans when spoken, but easy to read when written. So when the host speaks norwegian and Zara Swedish, they can perfectly understand each other even if there's some words that differ. It's basically as if someone from South Texas spoke with slang with someone in New York, it's easy to figure out that slang/word when put in context.

Quick question to do swedes out there: I'm danish, and find it easier to understand swedish rather than norwegian (when spoken, because let's face it norwegian and danish have similar spelling) and I was wondering, do you as swedish find it easier to understand norwegian or danish?

As a Norwegian I find Swedish easier when spoken, just because of pronounciation really. Danish written is almost the same as Norwegian written :)

I'm Swedish and I was in Denmark a couple of weeks ago and it was harder to understand Danish than I thought lol. Norwegian is much easier to understand (and when trying to pronounce words, I cannot pronounce danish words at aall). I could understand Danish written quite well though.

Caroline May I'm correcting myself, Skavlan talk in a mix between Swedish and Norwegian. He's been living in Sweden and knows which words we find confusing. Swedish and Norwegian is similair languages. we can understand each other if we make a bit of an effort.
