I once saw the Foo Fighters at the Continental Airlines Arena in 2003, maybe 2004. While there, Dave Grohl looked around at the audience and started talking to us. Out of nowhere, Dave asked the audience if we all thought drugs were cool. Naturally, people began to shout yes, and they cheered very loudly. After hearing the response, Dave came back in a semi-serious tone, and demanded of us 'don't do drugs, drugs aren't cool - look at me... I don't do drugs, and I just sold out the... uhh... (and looked around, unable to remember where he was) the super duper dome!' Absolutely hilarious. I don't remember the exchange word for word, but he definitely said that he sold out the super duper dome because he gave up drugs. Later that evening, Brian May and Roger Taylor of Queen came out to perform with the Foo Fighters. Dave decided to play drums and had Taylor sing because he said that his voice wasn't good enough to do Freddie Mercury justice. These guys are absolutely incredible in concert. There are very few bands that give better performances than the Foo Fighters, and one of those bands happens to be Queen. Granted, Freddie Mercury has been long gone, but to have the privilege of seeing two members of the greatest band of all time with one of the greatest bands of modern time together on stage was as good as it can get. Best concert ever. Thank you Dave, Taylor, Brian, and Roger. You guys made that an evening that I'll never forget for as long as I live.

I'm Irish and in France for Euro 16 the Irish and Swedes were having a laugh, dancing in the streets and the French people even put on a party for us because our fans were well behaved and respectful. Unlike the English and the Polish and Russians who had UFC gloves on and gumshields just looking to fight. The Swedish people were amazing. Even the Icelandic people were amazing. As far as swearing I think it's a European thing. We are allowed to sweat like fuck on talk shows, quiz shows anything really. Nobody cares or gets offended. I think it's Americans who don't swear on TV. Despite that their whole country swears. Each to their own I guess. The Swedish are great people with beautiful woman!! And check out Gabriela Quevado. My sister in law got to meet him 20 years ago. She worked at a locally owned CD store and they had brought him in for promotion and she was the supervisor of the store. She has a picture of them together with his arm around her and she and a couple of other co workers went out to dinner with him at a casual restaurant. I remember lollapalooza 2011 in Chicago, when the sold out event was hit by massive storms leaving nothing dry. The Subways had just canceled because they didn't want to play in that weather.. half an hour later with absolutely no changes in the weather the FF got on stage and rocked a show like I've never seen one, after slipping while running across the flooded stage landing on his back (But saving his guitar from falling to the ground) Dave stated something like: we appreciate everyone of you and we'll not be stopped by some rain from bringing you the best show you've ever seen!

I broke my leg similarly to the way Dave did. I don't know why it didn't hurt, but mine didn't hurt either. It was odd to look down and see your foot going one way, and your leg another. Have a dislocated ankle reset into the right position was really painful though for a moment. I admire him for playing the rest of the show with a broken leg! Wow!

The bone he described is most likely the Fibula. It's a thin bone and isn't too necessary for walking, so not a lot of pressure is put on it. Therefore it doesn't hurt that bad. Some animals fibulas just dissolve from underuse or are breed out entirely. Like with horses Edit: just checked another choice and it was his Fibula that was broken. And the break was near the bottom of the bone, so gravity helped keep it straighter then it would have been if the break was in the middle.

So, I'm a combat vet. I almost lost my leg to a 7.62R round. I was incredibly lucky that one of the docs that worked on me was allowed to try out a new treatment on me. I have a fiberglass shin and pins just below my knee and above my ankle. Yeah, it hurts sometimes. OK, a lot of the time. But I still have the leg. You take your miracles one at a time, you know?

I was never really into this band but listening to this interview I can tell David Grohl is a really cool and charismatic person and pretty much down to earth. I couldn't help it to still think of Nirvana whenever I heard his name but finally, 2020, I am finally able to move on = )

I met Dave and Taylor at a U2 concert many years ago. I was very drunk but they could not have been more kind to me. They both gave me a hug and then we had a group hug. A moment in time I will never forget. R.I.P. Taylor Hawkins!!

Dave falling off a stage and breaking his leg and continuing to play has to be one of the most epic displays of dedication to his fan base in rock history. Never before has an artist hurt himself so badly during the performance of a show and continued to play so as to not disappoint his loyal fan base. The amount of loyalty and perseverance through pain and tragedy displayed here is beyond what any other artist would do. Normally artists would cancel due to the cold, the flu, voice issues, or just not wanting to play. Dave Grohl outshines them all in this instance, and the fact his band mates rallied around him and continued to play while he was being cared for brings a tear to my eye. Other bands should take this as an example of how bands should be and how they should give their fans the show they paid for...but please don’t let this distract you from the fact that in 1998, Dave Grohl threw Mankind off Hell In A Cell, and plummeted 16 ft through an announcer’s table.

There are no words for the pain the Foo Fighters must be feeling. My only hope is that somehow they will find in each other the comfort and peace they will need to carry on. Music needs them. We all need them. Through their pain and their peace maybe, just maybe we can all heal. RIP Taylor and all prayers and comfort for the Foo's.
