Print 19 of each type, for a total of 38. It's also a good idea to print a few extra in case you brake a paddle on a rock.
This is a fully 3D printable RC snowmobile.
This was designed from the very beginning with easy assembly and minimal purchased parts as the goal. I think I have accomplished that goal. Everything is printed except for: Electronics, screws, bearings, and shocks. It can be printed on a print bed 200mm x 200 mm or larger. Most items do not need any supports but there are a few that will need some.

Many of the parts of my design are inspired from other snowmobile projects that I have seen. I have reached out to those that some of my work might resemble. If you feel something looks similar to your work and you did not receive a message from me please reach out to me. Nothing in my design is a modified version of others work, All of it was hand made by me, but some may still resemble that of images I used for reference.
Disclaimer: Due to printer abilities being different and always changing, and the nature of an off road vehicle there is a good chance you will break parts. Luckily they should be easy to reprint and fix rather quickly. I will do my best to provide support through discord and if files are found in need up improvement I will do my best to improve and then include for free for those who have purchased the snowmobile. I give no guarantee that it will print perfect on your machine or that things will not break when you send the sled flying off a cliff.

Another way to melt all the tabs into place is with an old soldering iron. I figure it'll work better that the lighter plus you don't get the nasty burn from the lighter.

One question would it be good if I used flexible filament for the track or hard filament I didn't know since you used hard filament.

Some people have printed it in flexible and like it. There is track pieces included that don’t have the tabs to be melted, they’re for if you print in flexible, you can just flex the end over your track pin.

Buy a refillable mini jet torch on aliexpress or something. Will cost you a few dollars and will heat the plastic tabs much faster and cleaner without the black burn.

I am just about to maybe print the seat but it says it will take 24 hours in creality slicer on a higher quality mode but not the highest. Should I speed it up or would that mess it up and make it look bad?

It’s a pretty big print. Depends on how dialed in your printer is. I think I usually can print it in 14-16 hours. You don’t need a ton of supports on the bottom, where the track goes. Your printer should be able to bridge that area. 0.2mm layer height still gives pretty good quality. It’s all up to how smooth you want it and how long you’re willing to wait.

@@BuildItBetter3D maybe I will just let it go and let it do it on the setting it is on. I think it is .15 but I didn’t see the estimated time for the rest of the settings. Next time I go to print something I will take a look. With the stuff we printed so far it has gone good so thank you for the awesome model.

I am wanting to use aluminum rod instead of fillament to hold them together but all I can find is 2mm diameter will that fit or is it to big

I know many people are using 12 gauge wire, and I think that’s around 2mm. I think it will depend on how accurate your print is and how accurate the wire diameter is. You should be ok to use it though.

I printed all the track in 50% infill will that work?

I print track with enough walls that it’s basically solid. As long as you’re close to solid you should be fine.

That track looks backwards to me, wouldn’t you want the braced part of tread on the frontside and the tabs should be facing the rear so they don’t catch anything?

I'm not sure I am following what you mean, but they are on correctly. They are designed with a bit of a bevel to assist in the catching and pushing down of the snow.

he’s saying maybe the bevel should go the other way so the stronger part of the track is hitting the ground first, and the tabs don’t catch on anything

If the bevel is the other way then the track will dig into the snow and not provide as much forward force. You would get stuck more often.

The track can be printed in pla or tpu. There is track design for tpu without the side tab, or there is one piece tpu. If printing individual track pieces then connect with piece of pla or abs filament, or with aluminum rod. If you join the discord channel you can get other opinions on what is better.
