In the original film, the Skeksis dinner party was meant to make them look decadent, disgusting, and gluttonous. But honestly, it looked like the Skeksis were just having an "ordinary" dinner, as you'd expect bird monsters to do so. This scene however truly shows them as the grotesque, disgusting, and decadent villains that they are with poor table manners, cruelty, and a much more unpleasant atmosphere.

@@almedinpleh5700 Oh no no, you misunderstand. I enjoy both depictions of Skeksis. I am simply observing how the show's depiction differs from the movie. And in terms of presenting the Skeksis as "dark", the show does it better.

I think the continuity could illustrate the decay of the Skeksis. They used to be rowdy, playing music and having vivid conversations. Their scene in the movie seems to show they’re lethargic, only talking to scream at each other over food, and mood dampened by the death of their Emperor. It really seems like they aged

Has to be my favorite scene in the show, at least that isn't story driven, The puppetering is so fluid and the set is immaculate It's also a clear show of the Skeksis' character, gluttonous violent monsters who have full control, the way they eat as if they'll always have more yet can't get enough, the way they treat the podling servers, Hell even the way they treat each other is a clear show of their cruelty and unapologetic villainy, especially after they get something they can't just have whenever they want, that being essence The skeksis are probably my favorite villains of all time and I'm glad they got the portrayal they deserve in the series
