The issue here is that Auhgra is only telling them to wait until a prophecy happens. The Skeksis would've continued tormenting them regardless, them fighting or not wouldn't prevent their massacre. Besides, for Auhgra's vision to become true, the destined gelflings wouldn't embark in their journey if the gelflings hadn't been in the brink of extinction. This conflict was inevitable, either they died at their homes or at the castle.

@@jeremytung1632 she’s most likely vapran, but there are theories that her background is a mix of vapra & stonewood/grottan. it would make sense; some of her features set her apart from most vapran gelfling (ex. darker eyes, hair sometimes has a greenish hue rather than pure white-blonde). it would also create another link between the series & the movie: kira being related to rian, deet, and brea somehow would be a really interesting connection!

Yes. As a kid (born in 87, movie came out 5 years before so I saw it pretty young) she kind of scared me but I knew she was on the good side..the more I watched it when I was older and now the show I realize how powerful she really is

don't think they are supposed to know that she is responsible for that cristal story. Seeing all paths doesn't mean necessarily "seeing everything with clarity", imagine seeing several tapistries each displaying a different futur, so many details to register. If you focus on one, you might miss out what happens on the others. It's even worse if the futur isn't set in stone and events can change it.

Truly amazing that the studio decided not to proceed with Season 2. Age of Resistance was a wonderful prequel to The Dark Crystal. Particularly as it comes at a time when so many relaunches fail miserably.

The show would’ve had their own take on the Garthim War, Deet was sitting on a throne, consumed by the darkening, she would’ve maybe (maybe not) used as an “ultimate weapon” for the Skeksis to maybe mind control Gelflings to be sacrificed, Rian would be searching for the shard that would make the Crystal whole, but it turns out he puts the wrong one in, which causes a Great Catastrophe. We would have seen who Jen and Kira’s parents were as well. In Deet’s vision, there was a Mother who hid her child from a Garthim. That’s definitely Kira’s mother. Honestly, as much as I love this series, making it 2 seasons would make more sense than giving it multiple seasons, and cancelling it before the full story could be finished is disrespectful given how many horrible adaptations we’ve been getting back then and even now.

I can confirm it it is not only is it the same structure building such as the materials and such but the throne and door are definitely the same and not to mention before they go in you see the outlay on how it meets up towards the forest similar to the scene just before the battle and the freak out with the princess

No...she literally said she wants them to survive. She told them to avoid the skeksis in order to live for as long as possible. The gelfling didn't listen to her, and went to war anyways. And how did that end up? With only two survivors remaining.

She's a scientist and theologan who can see bits of the future. From her perspective a whole bunch of living Gelfling would reinforce the planet against the evils the Skeksis are perpetuating, since the Skeksis aren't from the planet. If those Gelfling all died, it would kinda doom the planet for a long time...
