Sketchbook Walkthrough 03

Walkthrough through some of the sketches from my sketchbooks. The numbers are randomly chosen but future ones will be more chronological.

Hi Albert, very cool to see your process and color choices in detail. I had some very cheap alcoholic markers to start with but I don't like the garish shine. What colors (maybe 5-10) would your recommend from Windsor and Newton to start?

In general, start with a set of medium saturation and medium value earth and greys. And a very pale blue. These always go well together. Add one or two deeper value greys for dark accents and you have a great startup set. I will see that I prep a video on a basic set…

@@housesketcher I really like that idea for a video. I'm just getting back into sketching after a, ahem, 50-year hiatus. I'd like to copy your style using the same materials. That way, I know what outcome is possible and I can work toward that. After that, I can tweak things to match my style/preferences. Looking forward to more of your videos!
