I hope the surgery went well and you are not in too much pain. As far as your lighting issue....I think if you closed the drape behind you as you face the camera, you will have a better experience. When people are back lit, it throws them into a silhouette. You may need to add light depending on your camera.

A trick I use to get caps off watercolor or gouache tubes is to heat about 1/2 inch of water in a small container. I put the tube with the cap down in the water for a few seconds. This loosens the paint in the cap and the cap easily comes of with little effort.

Since this video has been posted, I am assuming surgery went well. I hope you have a fast recovery, but don't push yourself! Please put yourself first, take care of yourself and get plenty of rest! Don't worry about answering any comments or posting videos or creating new content until you are back to 100% and good and ready to!

That's a nice, wide range of materials for you to try out over the next few months as your rehab progresses and you get back to full health again. By a strange coincidence, I took delivery of the exact same set of fine liners just a couple of weeks ago and I'm very pleased with them - hopefully you'll have an equally good experience. I just pulled my pen and ink supplies out last week, it’s been years. Sad to say I did not properly take care of my tips and needed to buy new. Man, has fountain pens come a long way! I also found a couple of ‘how to’ books that I’m looking forward to use. Happy inking 🖋️

I picked up a Pentel Grafgear 500 for 0.3 lead and love it so much I had to order one from Blick. It is brown and feels so good in my hand. (prayers!! Heal well)

Great video, hope surgery and recovery goes well. You mentioned about wanting to try watercolour with pen and ink, I've seen a couple of books about this on Amazon they look good, have them on my wish list.

If you wear down marker nibs a lot on those fine liners they sell replacement nibs in packs for $4-6 so you dont have to throw away the whole marker/pen!!!

Not sure if I told you already, but if you have trouble with opening caps and jars or bottles, particularly paint tubes what you do is wipe down clean the rim, anything from water to methylated spirits to clean it properly, and all you need to do is add a little bit of coconut oil or Vasoline to the outsideand they will remain easy to open and close without catching.

Have you ever used Windsor newton or Faber castelle watercolor markers? And thank you for making me feel like I’m not a paper freak😂. I have to keep trying different brands out, I ordered 16 x 20 pad of Croma brand that I loved for Copic, but can’t find it anywhere- I do highly suggest it.
